Though the below had impact on me it is not necessary for most all
who have taken the oath to have this explained. So treat this as an
explanation to those who haven't served.
Have a great day Big Dog. I took the oath twice due to a break in service but one of those times ,
I can not remember which , the oath was broken down for us to better
instill its meaning before we swore to it. I remember the impact of that .
When broken down into sections and consumed that way , with deeply
entrenched , explained meanings , it's overpowering .

You cannot look at it that way.---------I am 16 years old with 68 years of experience.!!!!!!!! born in 1948 and joined and took the oath in Jan. 1968.
Warrior, 1996, in my pledge of allegiance, God bless America.
Regardless of when where or how we served , we are all connected.
I feel a kinship across time myself.
