Watching the news this morning. (Propaganda might be more appropriate for certain sections), I heard numerous people say they were willing to put up with governmental intrusion as a "trade-off" for protection from terrorism. What drivel. Idiots. These people are willing to, as Ben Franklin stated, "Trade Essential Liberty for a little Temporary Security." I might add, a false sense of security. This is nothing more than big government sleight-of-hand. Using a practically non-existent threat of terror as an excuse to whittle away at Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms, even convincing some that this abridgement is necessary, while any terrorist who wishes can walk right into our country via our Southern Border that this, and other Administrations have refused to secure, fearful of alienating the "Hispanic" vote. You have more chance of being struck by lightning while being eaten by a shark than you do of dying in a terror attack. This will change if the border is not secured. If amnesty passes, a non-existent threat will become a real one, courtesy of the government that idiots trust. This is nothing more than political ledgerdemain, a distraction from the actual goal of more government, less freedom. Wake the Hell up!!

I believe Thomas Jefferson said the same thing if you give up freedom for security you will almost assuredly end up with neither.

Most Gov. "issues" are made up. Fear is the most often used emotion to rationalize legislation. Fear of a polluted Earth, terrorism, crime, poverty, you name it. Enforcing current law should be sufficient, except, there is no money to be made doing that.

The communists have preached for a 100 yrs. that to initiate change create fear. Due to the people's desire to be safe their freedoms can be manipulated. Obama's , Emanual said, " never let a crisis go to waste." The way Obama has been ruling. He has studied the communist's teachings on how to over throw a government. One method is to over load the gov with welfare. Another plank of the communist Manifesto is that workers will take over production. Isn't that what happened at Gov. Motors? I believe Obama to be a communist. Everything he does that is outrageous would not surprise me. Wanta make the country safer lose the borders and stop entry of all Islamist period. Why should Americans be made to give up their freedoms because the privileges of foreigners are removed. It's a no-brainer.,

For those who are willing to give it all away for some security, here is what Ben Franklin had to say, "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety deserve neither Freedom or Safety. ".

Obama makes every adverse thing as painful on We the People as he possibly can. That, of course includes the sequester & Govt shutdown. For Obama everything is Politics, Shove it to the Republicans. He doesn't miss a beat. does he?

Stay or go, the Patriot Act is just the tip of the iceberg. Laws and regulations that "give us security" are so abundant that we can never get rid of them all.

Defending the Constitution is part of Obama's oath of office. He, of course, he immediately chose to ignore. So he blatantly walks all over the First, Fourth & Ninth Amendments of the Constitution. AND the Amnesty issue and Securing the borders are things that We the People should be fully up in arms about but we remain complacent. America, Wake Up!

Only part of this is a reply to you. I got carried away.
Please let me know what you think.

Those in power are so afraid of us that they will do anything to get & keep power over us.

The fear is that some day the masses will wake up & turn their effort against each other & turn it towards those who would destroy & are destroying what made America strong & take back their country.

The issue off what made America strong was that it had a strong middle class & people had a path to follow to be a part of that middle class.

The greed that there is by those having to control & take more power by the few is leading to the down fall of our
way of life.

Any one & I say any one that thinks this is a Right or Left issue this is wrong. This is a have over have not issue.

If you truly feel that you are an asset to the system & wish to keep the best parts of the system you should be a part of saying to those that seek to have it all "You have more than enough" We are going to tax you more if you keep taking more.

If you are in the middle & wish to keep what you have you still have to give value for what you get.

It is the task of those in the middle to do a better job of running things & replacing those that take to much for what they do. It may only need to be changes to the way money is handled..

If you truly wish for a sound system if you are in the middle. If you would see that as you do better that the others around you also do better.

So many of our problems that come from the poor or left out of the system would go away as they become a true part of the system.
