The study of Islam, both as a religion and a culture, has been added to common core teaching standards under the new multiculturalism initiative proposed by the U.S. Secretary Of Education. Pilot programs are set to roll out in select schools starting midway through the 2016 school year with full implementation occurring at the start of the 2017 school year in all common core states.

Gee I bet there won't be any classes on Christianity now will there !
I wonder how many of our separation of church and state boys will be along to cry out about this sort of religious teaching in the school classes ?
O that's right they don't mind it when it's anything but Christianity ! !

I thought they weren't supposed to teach any religion in public schools.

Just as fed. highway funds are used to extort state laws (eg. raise drinking age from 18 to 21) the feds and state use tax-funding to 'nudge' school-boards into 'correct' curricular decisions.

Common Core is a joke, and so is this!! Parents should be noting their objection and demanding it's removal! PCBS is all it is ...What is there to learn of it other than war, death etc...Where's the history of such that will influence students and why is this being introduced, period???
