Posting on his Facebook page this Sunday, author Salman Rushdie made sure to remind people that after Election Day, regardless of the outcome, Donald Trump will stand trial for a racketeering lawsuit in November, followed by a lawsuit alleging that he raped a 13-year-old.
“He is a sexual predator, hasn’t released his tax returns, and has used his foundation’s money to pay his legal fees,” Rushdie wrote in his post. “He has abused the family of a war hero and … oh, but let’s talk about some emails Hillary didn’t send from someone else’s computer, that weren’t a crime anyway, because that’s how to choose a president. Come on, America. Focus.”
In the weeks following Election Day, two separate lawsuits are set to begin alleging criminal actions by the real estate mogul, former reality TV star, and now GOP nominee for president.
This June, a woman filed a federal lawsuit claiming that Trump raped her in 1994 when she was 13-years-old. The lawsuit also alleges that Trump threatened her and her family if she ever spoke about the incident.
According to the lawsuit, Trump tied the girl to a bed and proceeded to sexually assault her as she begged him to stop. The allegations also say that Trump struck the girl in the face with an open hand.
The woman says Trump and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, lured her and other girls to lavish parties by promising them cash and modeling careers.
The allegations are supported by another woman who said Epstein had hired her to recruit other young women for his parties. An additional third woman later came forward as a witness.
Epstein was later convicted in 2008 of soliciting an underage girl for sex. He served 13 months of an 18-year prison term.
The other lawsuit scheduled to begin in November alleges that Trump defrauded students of Trump University out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
