What happened to common sense?

Where did it go?
Is the world going through some sort of mental breakdown.?
Everyone's offended, and put off.
What the frak happened to make us this way.
Just a mere 2 generations ago, immigrants from Everywhere hunkered down in Brooklyn and worked together ,despite massive cultural differences.
From China,to Ireland,to Mexico,Russia
and more,Adults and children made the world a better place .
Now, we can't even figure out what bathroom to use.
God help us.

Both of my children are post doctoral educated....one in medicine and the other in law. However, both believe the government can somehow control the changes in weather. They think the government can afford to feed, educate, and defend us if 5% of the population would pay more tax.

What did I miss in school? (Well, a whole lot. Otherwise, I'd make the money they do.)

Frankly, I don't think it's PC to demonstrate some "common sense"...not socially acceptable.

Destroying common sense was the first hurdle in creating a dependent society. Unfortunately, liberals where the first to lose theirs!

It's not the world . It's America . Every one knows it at least subliminally but most won't admit it.
It's all the liar's that have been in high government offices these last 8 years. Yes
we have had liars before put never like this . Never so many throwing out streams
of B.S. , misleading everyone to the point of developing insecurities and frankly I
believe that was part of the plan.

We have not been dazzled with brilliance . We've been bullshited to the tune that
Alinsky would be extremely proud of. Non stop mis-direction and every one knows it.
Those who refuse to openly admit it are the ones to watch. They will continue to go
along with this program . Obama's program . Him and all his appointee's. Every God
Damn one of them.

It is unfortunate that the highly specialized educated and the elitist think they will not
be affected by socialism . They will . Not as badly as middle America but they will.

Ok America and some others.
Is this the future coming to greet us?
Too much like Brave New World to me.
Orwell, Huxley, Bradbury,Heinlein and Asimov saw this coming.
I am not scared, but concerned.

I am the same. Not scared but concerned and alarmed. I fear
for my children and grandchildren . There is a great culling coming
followed by massive shifts in societies. Ours is the biggest
and hardest one for them to conquer but it is coming .

I blame a large part on "diversity" when I worked for the government we were forced yearly to endure a day of diversity training where we were told that America doesn't have a culture. We need to embrace all cultures. That means no one needs to assimilate any longer. That means we are no longer unified as a nation. We are divided by cultures and no new immigrant needs to join America. They can be whatever culture they came from and just enjoy the benefits of living here. Our cohesion as a nation then slowly dissolved. That's what we have now. We have even become bilingual, where we now need to press one for English. Bilingualism and diversity are totally devisive.

And God is on our side.
I remember when cultural diversity gave us strength.
Brooklyn ,Jackie Robinson , The Dodgers
,( da bums) the Yankees, China ,Espana,Russia,Ireland, We all worked together.
We raised our children here.
Don't tell me we have forgotten what needs to be done.

Our push for diversity has brought on a cultural movement that is far from what this country was founded on. Our children are taught how important diversity is for our culture, but not how our culture was formed. Diversity only works with assimilation, not the other way around. This is one reason it is so important to close our borders to those that refuse to assimilate. All they will accomplish is reorganizing our country into the same one they left. Unfortunately, some think this is good. They will have a different opinion when it is too late!

That's a different way of looking at it. We didn't embrace Jackie Robinson's culture, whatever that was. We became more open with our culture to include him. I was brought up in upstate N.Y. in the 40s and 50s. My schools were integrated and we had black and white students. There was no overt discrimination. I thought the whole country was like that until I went into the military. At bootcamp in South Carolina, in North Carolina and in Arizona I saw racism. In Yuma, there were signs on restaurants stating "Colored trade not solicited". The Greyhound bus station had separate facilities for black and white. America, to my surprise, was segregated. All that said, the country needed to include all people in our culture. We did that. However to suggest that we no longer support an American culture is wrong. We used to have a strong feeling of patriotism and a strong work ethic. I was born into poverty and lived on welfare for part of my childhood. However, we were ashamed of having to accept the largess of public assistance. My father managed to join the middle class when I was eight or ten. It was American culture that moved my family ahead. Third world values are dragging us down. We need to work for what we receive and nothing is free. We need American values and we all must embrace a common language. What you speak at home is your business but if you want to live here learn English, it's our language.
