If you wish to dispute these figures, go right ahead and tell us what you believe the correct figures to be.

I love numbers as much as the next guy but when you just print them out they aren't very helpful. What period for Bush are you comparing and why do you think the comparison is fair? If you are going to compare economic data--since this is probably our strongest period under Obama a fair comparison would be to compare it to the strongest period under Bush. The gas price and reduction in oil imports are largely due because of fracking and I don't know if you are aware but there is strong evidence that fracking contaminates our drinking water, causes earthquakes, and a lot of other nasty things so, personally, I wouldn't mind if we were getting our oil someplace else.

And while I do agree with you that republicans did everything possible to prevent any type of progress for the past 8 years the bad thing about numbers is that they are so easy to dispute which is why one should think carefully before putting them up. And a source would be nice too--that way we would know you aren't just pulling them out of your ass. Kindest regards...

wonder what the employment rate would be if you counted the 80 million out of work?

Did you see the poll where 9 out of 10 children preferred whale fat to chocolate candy.
It was taken in an Eskimo village

the workforce participation rate figures tell the true story. Obama has skill fully redefined the unemployment figures.

"republicans did everything possible to prevent any type of progress for the past 8 years"???!!!! Man, do you ever live on another planet! Just what progress have the Republicans stopped? That $835B Stimulus package that was suppose to fix the infrastructure but ended up being a payback to the unions and Democrat cronies? That one? Or, letting him do more deficit spending...the Treasury over the past 3 fiscal years has brought in record taxes, and your home boy is still running an annual half trillion dollar deficit...national debt is now pushing $20T, almost double when he took over. Do you call illegals flooding over the borders and running up the crime stats and taking American jobs progress? If so, yeah the Republicans haven't been able to stop that. Do you call bringing in thousands of unvetted Muslim immigrants and placing many in small towns all across middle America who are taking jobs away from the locals, sucking up taxpayer dollars in government entitlements, and raising possible terrorist levels...that progress? Having a stagnant economy with an annual GDP the lowest in decades, 1-2%, making Obama the first president to never have one quarter of 3% or higher GDP growth...that progress? A real unemployment number of 9.7% (U6 number), and 94.2M Americans out of the workforce...that progress? 70,000 more small business failures than start ups, a record...that progress? Record amount of Americans on Food Stamps, and annual middle wages still $4,000 below pre-2008 levels...that progress? Just tell me what progress the Republicans have stopped.

And, just for your info, don't expect any of those numbers to get better under a Hillary presidency. In fact you can expect them to become much worse, after her tax plan, open border plans, raised inheritance tax plans, etc take effect. We're heading for a two class system, the rich, and the poor. Hillary will put the icing on that cake. If you don't believe me, you have not done any research...period.

The Bush statistics are from the last few days of his presidency. Any source I quote will be disregarded and disputed here by the conservatives in this forum, so it isn't worth posting sources for most of the people here. This is how they deal with information contrary to what they wish to believe. Let them go hunt down the statistics themselves. If they disagree with a statistic, let them disprove it. A massive increase in solar energy would certainly help us diminish our need for oil. I think the comparison is fair because each set of numbers comes from the same source, hence they are calculated in the same fashion. This is not a way of comparing apples and oranges. I am very aware of the consequences of fracking, of considerations regarding extraction of oil, water tables, etc. I have taken a college level course in the subject. Many people worry about our balance of trade, and would like to see our dependence on foreign oil vastly diminished.
