In 2015, political consultant Peter Schweizer published ‘Clinton Cash’, a book investigating foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation after 2000.

Schweizer joined Martha MacCallum on America’s Newsroom on Friday to discuss recent revelations in a report linking Clinton Foundation donations to political favors while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, as well as the investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server.

MacCallum asked Schweizer about how the two investigations developed over the past number of months.

“We’ve gone from ‘I used a Blackberry because it was more convenient for me’ to ‘I used BleachBit to scour the server to get rid of the emails’—that’s a pretty long distance to travel,” MacCallum remarked.

“The whole controversy and scandal over the emails and the Clinton Foundation are joined at the hip,” Schweizer responded.

“The reason they set up the private server is, when you engage in pay-to-play on a global scale, you need a means of communication. You can’t do that on the official government network because it could be detected,” he said.

This case “cries out for an independent prosecutor,” Schweizer said.

“Very, very clearly, if you are a foreign oligarch who gave money to Clinton Foundation, the way to get access …was to email the Clinton Foundation and have THEM contact State Department,” he explained.

“The intentionality is there.”
