Assange Blasts Media For 'Politicization' of Election Campaign In Fox Interviews

Fox News - Aug 26, 2016

In back-to-back interviews with Fox News, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange criticized the U.S. media for "incredible politicization" in its coverage of the presidential election, and vowed there are more shoes to drop before the Nov. 8 vote.

Assange appeared Friday morning on "Fox & Friends," where he said "significant" information would be published on the site regarding Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, but did not specify what it would be.

"I know you guys would love it if we scooped ourselves on 'Fox & Friends,' but we’re not going to do that,” Assange said from the Ecuadorean embassy in London, where he has lived for nearly five years as he fights extradition to Sweden where he is wanted on charges relating to sexual assault that his supporters say are politically driven.

Assange said information regarding Clinton's health is fair game, and noted that in an email already disclosed by the organization, Clinton refers to her own "cracked head." He said he had information about GOP nominee Donald Trump as well, but indicated it may not be as revelatory as critics might hope.

It is difficult “for us to publish more controversial material than what comes out of Donald Trump's mouth every day,” Assange said. He also suggested Clinton and other officials have enjoyed a form of "elite immunity."

"Fox & Friends" spoke with Assange hours after Fox News' "The Kelly File" aired an interview, the second in a two-part series of questions and answers with him.

Assange's group was behind a trove of Democratic National Committee emails leaked on the eve of the party's convention revealed a bias against Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign and led to the resignation of chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

"I'd like to believe that no media organization would not publish the DNC emails," Assange told Fox News' "The Kelly File". "[But] I think MSNBC wouldn't publish [nor would] The New York Times ... That's sad."

Assange discussed Wikileaks offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the killing of DNC staffer Seth Rich, who was shot and killed in Washington early on July 10.

"Why are you so interested in Seth Rich’s killer?" Kelly asked Assange.

"We’re very interested in anything that might be a threat to Wikileaks’ sources," Assange answered, later adding that Wikileaks had "received a variety of information" about the case. Assange would neither confirm nor deny that Rich was "necessarily connected to our publications."

Assange also accused the Clinton campaign of stoking "a kind of neo-McCarthy hysteria" about Russia's alleged role in the DNC hacking and Moscow's purported links to the Trump campaign.

"The Trump campaign has a lot of things wrong with it," Assange said, "but as far as we can see being Russian agents is not one of them."

On Wednesday, Assange told "The Kelly File" that "absolutely" new information culled from Clinton's emails would be released prior to the November election.

Earlier Thursday, a federal judge ordered the State Department to begin releasing almost 15,000 more emails from Clinton's tenure as secretary of state by Sept. 13. The emails were uncovered by the FBI during their investigation into Clinton's use of a private server.

Assange Vows Clinton Email Release, As Storm Clouds Gather For Candidate

By Barnini Chakraborty - Aug 25, 2016 - Fox News

With 75 days before voters pick their new president, email revelations are threatening to overtake Hillary Clinton’s campaign – with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange hurling another log on an already raging fire with a vow to release “significant” Clinton documents.

In an exclusive interview Wednesday night with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, Assange was asked whether new information culled from Clinton emails would be released before the general election: "Yes, absolutely.”

Asked whether it could be an election game-changer, Assange told Kelly, “It depends on how it catches fire."

Dana Perino, former White House press secretary under the George W. Bush administration and co-host of Fox News’ “The Five,” predicted Assange would release the files before the third presidential debate, since “it is the one everyone pays attention to.”

WikiLeaks is the same group whose leak of Democratic National Committee files caused havoc for the party on the eve of its July convention.

Clinton herself has tried to downplay the revelations to date, telling CNN there’s “a lot of smoke” but “no fire.”

But Assange's threat amounts to one of several looming headaches for the campaign. The State Department is under court order to start reviewing thousands of additional emails for potential release. Clinton is expected to get a set of written questions on her email server soon from her arch-nemesis, the conservative D.C. group Judicial Watch.

Meanwhile, new revelations are surfacing regularly on the access that Clinton Foundation donors enjoyed with her State Department, fueling allegations of pay-to-play practices.

Donald Trump has seized on the last drip-drip of revelations.

“It’s impossible to figure out where the Clinton Foundation ends and the State Department begins,” the New York businessman said at a recent rally in Texas.

On Wednesday, The Associated Press reported that more than half of the non-government people Clinton met while secretary of state gave money to the Clinton Foundation.

The campaign strongly pushed back and accused the wire service of cherry-picking examples that painted Clinton in a negative light. The AP said it stands by its reporting.

But that’s not the only problem for her campaign.

On Monday, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg set a Sept. 22 deadline for the State Department to review nearly 15,000 Clinton emails during her tenure as secretary of state. That means potentially embarrassing emails could be released just ahead of Election Day.

The newest batch includes messages Clinton did not voluntarily turn over to the department last year but were uncovered by the FBI during its investigation into her use of a private email server.

That investigation did not result in any criminal charges being filed against Clinton. The decision was a relief for her campaign heading into the party convention, after which she has enjoyed the polling edge -- albeit a narrowing one in some states -- over Trump.

Still, neither Trump nor Clinton rate very high when voters are asked about “truthfulness.” In an Aug. 3 Fox News Poll, 61 percent of voters said they think Clinton is dishonest.

Boasberg’s September deadline was set on the same day Judicial Watch released hundreds of emails from Clinton’s longtime aide Huma Abedin. The emails reveal more instances of foundation officials seeking what the group called "special" access for donors with her State Department.

One 2009 exchange involving the crown prince of Bahrain, with foundation official Doug Band notifying Abedin the “good friend of ours” was coming to the United States and wanted a sit-down with Clinton. Abedin said the request had to go through “normal channels” but wrote back two days later offering up a morning meeting between the two.

The Clinton Foundation has pushed back strongly on Judicial Watch’s claims.

“Once again this right-wing organization that has been going after the Clintons since the 1990s is distorting facts to make utterly false attacks,” Josh Schwerin, Clinton spokesperson, said in a written statement. “No matter how this group tries to mischaracterize these documents, the fact remains that Hillary Clinton never took action as Secretary of State because of donations to the Clinton Foundation.”

Republicans in Congress also are questioning whether Clinton committed perjury during her marathon 2015 congressional hearing where she testified about her use of a private email server.

Still, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham told Fox News he’s not holding out much hope.

“At the end of the day nothing's going to happen between now and November,” he said Wednesday. Instead, he believes an outside organization should be brought in to investigate the claims.

He added, “If you’re waiting on this Justice Department to hold anybody in the Obama/Clinton world, you’ll die of old age.”

Judge Orders State Dept. To Begin Releasing Additional Clinton Emails By Sept. 13

Fox News - Aug 25, 2016

A federal judge Thursday ordered the State Department to begin releasing additional emails by Sept. 13 from Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state that were discovered during the FBI probe into her private email server.

State Department officials confirmed the existence of the almost 15,000 emails Monday, and predicted they would need until Oct. 14 to review the emails to determine which were work-related, The Hill reported.

The order, first reported by Reuters, comes in response to a lawsuit by Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group.

“It is astonishing that Hillary Clinton tried to delete and hide Benghazi emails and documents. No wonder federal courts in Florida and DC are ordering the State Department to stop stalling and begin releasing the 14,900 new Clinton emails,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.

Clinton is also expected to get a set of written questions on her email server soon from Judicial Watch.

The newest batch of emails includes messages Clinton did not voluntarily turn over to the State Department last year but that were uncovered by the FBI during its investigation into her use of a private email server.

The FBI concluded its investigation of Clinton's use of a private server last month, with FBI Director James Comey confirming publicly that 110 classified emails were sent and received by Clinton, as well as 2,000 that were classified after the fact.

Comey said investigators found at least three emails that contained classified markings, adding that the Democratic presidential nominee was "extremely careless." However, he did not recommend criminal charges, and the Justice Department closed the case.

However, the email issue has continued to dog her presidential campaign, with Republican rival Donald Trump commenting on her email use frequently on the campaign trail.

As soon as obammie found out about Hilliar's server, he knew he had her. Choice: Prison or the Whitehouse, with me as acting President. I whistle, you dance. If you screw up, someone will find you guilty of having run your own government as my Secretary of State.
Kapeesh, Hilliar?
