Court Overturns Voter Law Deemed Unconstitutional

The ruling Friday by the 4th district U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals declared the 2013 law violated the Constitution and the federal Voting rights act, by targeting black voters, “ with almost surgical precision”. A federal appeals court ruled North Carolina law illegally targeted minorities with tougher ballot access rules.

This comes after two other court rulings from the states of Texas and Wisconsin. The law passed after the Republicans took control of the state legislature and new Governor Rep. (R)Pat McCorey.

Looks like our governing system still works after all, Kudos to NC, Texas and Wisconsin.

Here's a simple question for you. Do you believe that voters should be required to prove that they are eligible to vote? I want a simple yes or no.

Yes and one becomes eligible when we register. That is not and was not the point. This has gone under through the courts and three out of thee and the minority's have been targeted against, that's what made it unconstitutional. Not everyone who are born citizens have birth certificates.

And what percentage of Americans do not have a birth certificate? How many of them are black? Do you even know? It is a simple fact that voting is a privilege. It is granted to law abiding citizens who can prove their citizenship. How do you do that? By having a valid ID. No one is disenfranchised by requiring an ID to vote. That's like saying blacks are discriminated against for being required to have a drivers license to drive a car.

If they could show any kind of evidence that requiring an ID is somehow discriminating against blacks, they might have a point. But no one has done so. If what they say is true, then some dumb nigger, who can't get a valid ID, doesn't deserve to vote. Just saying.

It's going to be hard for conservatives to win if they can't rig the election. I can feel the tears flowing right now...

Oh that's a proof for your decision. You're more fucked up than you seem.

You really don't need to reply to any of my posts. You can pick the scabs off your balls with someone else...

I don't the number, but probably a good many older people weren't born in a hospital. You are not required to prove citizenship but you do have to sign - every state has required individuals wishing to register to sign a statement under penalty of perjury affirming that they are citizens and that they meet all of the state’s other voter eligibility requirements. The federal form also requires such a statement and additionally states that non-citizens who register may be criminally prosecuted and deported. A registered voter ID card and another form of Id to show address is what is needed. BTW a lot of older people don't drive either. What can one use if they don't have a birth certificate to prove their citizenship, there are many more of them than dead people voting.
