It took me a little while, but I finally realized that anytime you talk about race relations with the Black Community Whites are automatically assumed to be the perpetrators and Blacks are always the victims. Until both sides can sit down on an equal footing and discuss the issues, I doubt very seriously if anything will ever be accomplished by either side. To be honest with you, I think Whites, and America, has bent over backwards to help these people. I am of the opinion we have done by far more than we should and the majority of the problems that Blacks face are of their own doing. The lowering of standards, affirmative action, quotas and taking away from one group (Whites) and giving it to another group (Blacks) has by far done more harm to the Black Community. My family never owned slaves, and we aren't responsible for segregation, Jim Crow laws, etc. I do have to admit that my view of Black People at one time in my life was prejudicial and unfair; however, when I became older and educated, my view of things changed, because I saw the truth. In my later years as a man, I have been robbed at gunpoint three times, looked over for job promotions, I had a young Black Man jump in my car and tried to hijack it with my girlfriend with me, and other events. After all this, I could easily hate and have a negative attitude towards Black People. I have the attitude you can't blame an entire people for what a few irriresponsible thugs do as punks.
