I think she figured out that although she is out spending Trump 40:1, what she actually is doing is causing people to give him a second, then a third look....and the result is that now he is ahead and pulling away.....and her outrageous spending is causing it.
Obviously she is inept. She should be in hiding rather than stumping. There is so much documentation of her incessant lying that all she does is spotlight it, and she is dumb enough to point at Trump.

She will not do an open press conference with unscreened Q and A with reporters as Trump did . She has not had a press conference of any time in the last eight plus months.

If she has any sense I think you are correct but the question is, how far will her ego push her? I think she believes she is above the law and immune to criticism and may feel she'll make Trump look bad.
