You are truly a moonbatty idiot.

Are you saying a bunch of flea bitten Indians was a means to power and wealth? White settlers wanted the Indian lands and demanded that the government "protect" them. The POWER AND WEALTH wasn't for the politicians but the whites who exploited the deaths of the Indians. It's not government that we need to be afraid of but our own citizen who demand that government "protect" them. Currently it's Muslims and Hispanics that are in the cross hairs but in a democracy governed by fear and hate it can be any one or any group.

Unfortunate, isn't it, that America has NEVER BEEN A DEMOCRACY, but is, instead, a REPUBLIC governed by the US Constitution, NOT supposed to be dictated to by GOVERNment. GOVERNment has severely, SEVERELY overstepped its bounds solely for the purpose of raising personal income from those who entice it. If you cannot see that, you are more blind than any bat ever examined.

I must cute dear peter some slack, I mean he never knows where his lips have been last so talking straight with knowledge of facts just is not possible. Seems strange to me that all these liberals can confuse a democracy for a republic. But then that has always been the Demonrats idea.

I regret that you think Americans are not capable of looking after themselves. Have you EVER lived anywhere that the citizens made the rules? No, you haven't. Neither have I. All of us are brainwashed, and cannot seem to get beyond being brainwashed. IT's as though humans cannot function properly WITHOUT a small group of totally self-centered imbeciles making the laws for them, dictating to them, stealing from them. What the hell is wrong with humans that they can see no value in being FREE PERSONS? Believe me, if we had no government, WE COULD TAKE CARE OF THE DRUG PROBLEM. WE COULD ELIMINATE VIOLENT GANGS.......WE COULD DEAL WITH CRIME FAR BETTER THAN THE GOVERNMENT DOES BECAUSE THERE WOULD BE NO GOVERNMENT TO STOP US FROM DOING WHAT NEEDS DOING. Without governments we would never have another World War, probably never have another real war. Without a government there would be no taxation, representation or not. Without a government Americans could produce and expand life immeasurably. I am not saying there would be NO STRUCTURE, NO AMENITIES, NO ORGANIZATION. I AM SAYING THERE WOULD BE NO DICTATORS, NO ONE WHO COULD DO TO YOU WHATEVER HE PLEASED. It sees obvious to me that most humans are terrified of trying to exist without those imbeciles dictating to us what we can and cannot do. It is no wonder we have allowed GOVERNMENT to destroy us, huh?

Tasine,

What you are talking about, whether you know it or not, is an Utopia. It has been tried in history at least two times. Both times it was a miserable failure. Israel had God as their King. When they loved Him and obeyed his law and commandments, they flourished and were prosperous beyond measure. As time went on, the Israelites had to have a earthly king. The first king, Saul, was corrupt and disobeyed God until he met his own demise. David became the next king. There were times when David wasn't cool and disobeyed God. He committed adultry, murder and did things contrary to God's will. Many of the kings that followed were wicked, burned incense in high places and honored other religions that did not honor the True God of Israel. Because of these wicked kings, Israel was scattered among the nations. The ultimate example I can give you is Christ. He will return, The Second Coming, set up an Earthly Kingdom, and rule the world with truth, justice and rightousness for a thousand years. God, the Creator, sits on the Throne of Creation, rules, governors and continues to create in the Universe. Everything is a function of His will. I hope this will explain another point of view which is a matter of Faith.

There is no need to think I am stupid. I do think I know as much, if not more, about how a peaceful anarchy would operate than you probably do as I face it and study it daily. I do not, however know as much about the Bible as you must, and I never will. I am not a Christian but fully support the Christian religion as it is the glue holding America together all these years, and that is why the left is determined to destroy it if at all possible. I grew up in a church, became church organist at age 16, played for funerals and for weddings as well as every church service. I thought I was a Christian, only to learn in much later years from a preacher and a lay person that my beliefs just do not fit into Christianity - so I no longer see myself as a Christian as experts in the field say that what I believe is not Biblical. The part that makes me know I am not a Christian is that I cannot force myself to place faith in a book written over and over and over by people who were not living at the time of Christ, but who believed what they had heard, etc. I have run into too many people during my almost 8 decades who didn't know diddly about what they talked about, and I cannot think of a reason that people may have been much more intelligent and attentive during those times than they are today. People tell me, "all you have to do is believe Christ died for you". What if one cannot force one's brain to believe everything they are told or read. My intent in telling you is this: I do not mean to insult, merely to explain why your response is not much of an answer to my suggesting that having a government is INFERIOR to having true freedom. Your explanation does NOTHING to make me change my thinking on liberty. I have great faith in my Creator, God. I believe in Him wholeheartedly. I just don't necessarily believe books written by men hundreds of years ago. And I don't want my country defiled and destroyed..... I don't believe my God wants that either, and I also believe that God does a lot of His work through PEOPLE IF THEY CARE.

I would like to say onething. You are far from being stupid. The way you express yourself in your writing reveals that you are an intelligent person and you have thought out very carefully the terms of your position. I was trying to convey to you that I did not agree with you and what my position was compared to yours. I was not trying to change your mind. When you express your ideas or your point of view, this forum is called an arena where ideas, positions and other stuff is expressed by different people. There are some people who feel so strongly about their beliefs they would as soon as tell you to go to hell or go and screw yourself. That is OK. I have learned a great deal from other people in terms of how they think as people. It has even been fun getting in a verbal brawl once in a while. Some of the Jocks who write and express themselves on this forum are pretty sharp cookies and they give me hope that this nation still has a chance.

I just want you to know that I respect your position. Don't be afraid to take on some of these rascals. I promise you one thing your writing and thinking skills will rise to a higher level. SAM

Thank you, Sam. I appreciate your understanding and I respect your position as well. Actually, I do go at it from time to time with some of the rascals here on OPP. I love some of them and am disgusted with those who cannot grasp much of anything. At any rate, you and I probably want the same things for our nation, and that makes us friends.

We only vote for our representatives so they will do what we want--if they don't, we vote them out and vote in someone else who will. You should read Plato's Republic. In a Republic the representative is first supposed to do what is best for the country (common good) than consider what is best for his constituent (individual good). The greatest danger of a democracy is that the people will only vote for things they want. Since we elect our representatives to do explicitly that it's us who've destroyed the constitution and the concept of a Republic not some foreign "entity" that we call government. Like it or not we are the ones who created our government because we are the ones who've put the men and women in place to do explicitly that. The Indian was wiped out in this country because whites wanted them gone. Even now we have a force in this country who are trying to make the Muslim gone--and that will only happen if we allow that hatred and fear of others to infect the majority. Yes, we are a democracy. If you don't like that than stop electing people specifically to make it one.

And the irony of all of that is that the right is trying to destroy the establishment when it's they, themselves, who've created it. Funny don't you think!

How is the Christian religion the glue that holds this country together. Do you think the people who demanded the slaughter of the Indian weren't Christian? Do you think the slave holders of the south and even the north weren't fine Christian folk? No where does Christ say we should steal our neighbors land nor use government to insure the theft remain ours. He doesn't promote slavery, nor bigotry, nor racism. He never would have applauded Jim Crow, never tried to stop minorities from being treated equally, never promoted war, never said we had to have guns to protect ourselves, never denigrated homosexuals nor refused them anything. He never did anything that Christian Conservatives in this country have so long coveted. So if it's Christianity that is the glue that holds this country together--we are either the most corrupt country in the world or it's not the Conservative Christianity that you are talking about....

Nothing funny or truthful about it. What you seem to totally and completely ignore is that all living creatures change over time. No need for you to explain government to me. I have quite a few university credits in poli-sci, economics, and I entered university before we had so many socialists out in the open, and have followed politics pretty consistently since about 1962. Mostly facts as known facts were predominantly taught, with an occasional opinion expressed, usually AS AN OPINION, NOT AS A FACT. Neither major political party is the same as it was decades ago. One reason for that is that more and more people have been brainwashed by politicians, educators, journalists, unions, and the entertainment industry in a major effort to force socialism on us - many young people favor giving up many of their "freedoms"........but don't know a freedom from a hot dog. The stress has been such that SOME professional scientists now lie re findings on various topics in order to be PC.....afraid to be truthful for fear they will lose their jobs or their grants.....and this is "PROGRESS"? In my book that is digression, regression caused by repression and fear. That's the political left for you. Both the Dem Party and the Rep Party bear no resemblance to their versions displayed in the 1950s. Both have lost their way and put themselves and their pocketbooks FAR ENOUGH AHEAD of their constituents as to border on treason. They argued then, but not as they do today. I despise what the left and its enablers (MANY OF WHOM ARE REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS) are doing to this nation. And this is "PROGRESS"? We have invention on top of invention, findings on top of findings, and our nation grows closer to death with each few days. This is "PROGRESS"? For my entire life I have loved and done my best for America and my fellow man........NOT TODAY! Today is worth living, but tomorrow may not be, and definitely will NOT be eventually thanks to ignorance and hatred displayed by most politicians for the average citizen,by TV, radio and newspapers and mags, by the entertainment industry,by unions, etc. Unfortunately for the nation, I cannot vote out Maxine Waters, Barack Obama, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and the entire gang of democrat socialists.

I hope you are gearing up for the fall our economy and nation will undergo SOON, thanks to greedy and self-serving Americans, particularly those in government positions, because even idiots should not have to starve to death, and after the collapse, I think you cannot count on government nor friends to help you out in any respect........life will be chaos, and I doubt you have very many close and helpful friends.

PeterS, you hit the nail right on the head. I think the Dem's and the Rep's are so much alike in what they do that the good of the country is not a priority. It is all about keeping your job, the goodies and giving away the store in order to keep it.

Don't forget LGBTs. They are becoming a protected group. If you say anything about them or critisize them, it is hate speech. If you disagree with them or say no to them, you are a homophobe. They preach tolerance, but practice the art of intolerance.

Just a little info for you. If you believe there is no God and there is no Hell, and if you kill someone or steal someone stuff and you get away with it you are scott free and when you die you will pay no consequence. If that is what our core value is, then you should see why there is so much violence and robbery, drugs, lying, going on. The law of man can never control this behavior, we will live it a hell hole for ever. Man needs to have so form of overlord power or supremacy over man. With out that it's a free for all. One need not have total belief but just a thought that it may be true and If I do this I may burn in hell for ever, that idea will stop a lot of people from doing violence.
