Old high school crush?

I was sitting in the waiting room for my first appointment with a new dentist. I noticed her DDS diploma on the wall, which bore her full name.

Suddenly, I remembered a short, attractive, dark-haired girl with the same name who had been in my high school class, some 30-odd years ago.

Could she be the same gal that I had a secret crush on way back then? Upon seeing her, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. This aging, mostly salt & pepper-haired woman was way too old to have been my classmate.

After she examined my teeth, I asked her if he had attended Northmont High School.

"Yes. Yes, I did. I'm a thunderbolt," she said gleaming with pride.

"When did you graduate?" I asked.

She answered, "in 1975. Why do you ask?"

"You were in my class!", I exclaimed.

She looked at me closely...then the aged, wrinkly-faced, matronly, gray-haired, woman asked, "What did you teach?"

Possibly similar to yours, Bob, I enjoyed my reunion, but was disappointed in that everyone I met there was an old fart/fartress(?) I couldn't understand why I was there...still a kid at heart

Hi Slattern,After going to my last class reunion,Im not going to another one.I met my high school flame, and her husband,And she looked like she died about 10 years before the reunion, her husband looked even worse. out of all the 60 odd people there,I only knew 5 people,It was extremely depressing.

I have found the most depressing is that there once were people I could rely upon to answer more or less technical questions. There are only two people from my Flamenco life that are still existing that could recall experiences we enjoyed together. All the younger people in our "group" are gone. That's the only loneliness that exists in my life.

This past Friday, I got my notification of our impending 50-yr. reunion coming up. I thoroughly enjoyed 20 yr. reunion in 1987. I will probably attend, but not sure. I, too, am a Viet Nam Vet, Bob. I lost two of my high school buddies (beside several others) in-country. They were one year ahead of me. I was in-country most of '68, and some of '69, USMC. Welcome home, Brother...and, Semper Fi
