Oh hell yes they want to do that. They have eve asked certain countries not to follow the eating habits of the West (The US, of course) as they grow and try to be like us in other ways.

They have even gone so far as to connect agriculture and dairy farming to climate change. They say that these businesses are contributing more "bad" gasses to our planet than anyone else. The EPA did take some serious consideration of taxing cow flatulence about 3 years ago. This sounds too much like the UN and all its agencies who work to hold the United States back and down. All of this crap sounds too much like it is attached to the UN's Agenda 21. I have cheated and read a lot more about Agenda 21 than too many of you.

If you open this link pay heed to the picture it leads off with. It is called a Brazilian cattle ranch and is so obviously nothing but feedlot. There is a huge difference between a feedlot and a ranch. If you look at the picture make sure you look at who took the picture. It is a photographer for Greenpeace. What does that tell us?

Of course no one likes being told what to do, but the reality is that the recommendations make sense both from an environmental and a health point of view.
Why wouldn't one want to be healthier and have a healthier planet, regardless of who recommended the changes?

It sounds so good, what you say. Did you see the lie of a picture that was misrepresented? If you read the UN report you would have seen that they are telling underdeveloped countries not to follow western ways of living.

You are right about the climate change crap but they haven't proved a lot of that yet. Three or so years ago my son and his partner almost sold all their cattle because the EPA was talking about taxing cattle farts and they just didn't want the EPA to stab them in the back again. My son isn't a farmer but he does work on farm equipment as one of the best in the country and neither of us wants to see our means of making a living taken away. That is what they are doing, isn't it?

I'd say the picture was mis-labeled, not an outright lie.

And for the record, I'd hate to see anyone's livelihood taken away; I certainly don't believe that is the goal of the EPA.

But of one discovers that their way of making a living is damaging others, I think there has to be some financial incentive to change. Most wouldn't adjust out of the goodness of their hearts. It's definitely a conundrum, but vilifying either side out of hand does nothing to resolve the issue.

It looks like the environment might be making that call for us, as the drought out west continues. People never use to eat any where near the amount of meat we eat today, to much of it will do more harm than good.

I'm not sure what their argument was, poop makes good energy

Coming from Greenpeace tells me that the lie was told by them and the UN liked it. Living out here in the real Midwest I know what ranches look like and what feedlots look like. Only a fool would accept that part about that picture when no grass is seen in it. On ranches cattle have free roam and feed themselves but in feedlots they are restricted, as in that picture, and do walk around in their feces since it just doesn't get cleaned out daily or even weekly.

I have to say that IPCC has been as wrong as all the other IPs have been and never really tried to be truthful. The Agenda 21, drawn up by the UN was intended to cut the world population and to put people to living in where they wanted them to be. Have you seen the map of the US that the Agenda people put out? I will be glad to show it to you if not.

Poop does make good fertilizer and is used all over the world for that purpose. In the summer of 1956 I spent quite a bit of time watching those old Bavarians spraying their grass, for hay, with water they had mixed with the poop out of their barns. It worked so very well along with the nearly daily rains they get. They cut the grass about knee high 5 times that summer which provided the hay to feed their cattle all winter. I wonder if anybody at the UN has any idea that goes on.

We had lived 3 to 5 years in drought here in Kansas and now that the drought seems to have gone people are griping about the amount of rain we get. My wife's parents were farmers and I told her that there was only 2 kinds of rain to farmers. Too darned much and too darned little. They want it when they need it but usually take it when they get it.

I am with you since I live in western Kansas (lots of cattle and feed lots) and my sons work at a farm machinery dealership. I am not a real red meat eater, but my wife is and we seldom have an evening meal that doesn't have some kind of beef involved. Wellllll, lots of chicken and some fish but mostly beef.

Have you read and or are familiar with Agenda 21, or the One World Order philosophy in take over..
First~Freedom of speech
Second~~ weapons
Third~~manufactured food shortages
Forth~~reliance on government (control)
etcetcetc..It must at least appear to you that some of the things in both are in fact taking place by the movement(s) to achieve more control, dominance and eventual, domination, period..???

Now don't get me wrong, I am learning and reading on it and have been for a while now and will say I do see the correlations of those things known about both to see a drive to push us in that direction..

As for the UN, they have no power to enforce anything other than that which is agreed to by treaty...Not us or any other Nation...Once functional and helpful now just another bureaucratic nuance that needs to go..Countries do as they are going to do regardless of what the UN suggests...The way it should be,I might add..

Our eating habits, good or bad are not the business of the dang UN or any other form of government intervention..Let them stick to politics and stay out of our lives rather than trying to move in and take over our lives..Yes, eating healthy should be our own goal but we damn sure so not need another government intervention into our eating habits..They don't want us to live longer, we become a social liability in then having to pay out in those Social Security benefits they keep telling us they have no money to pay..Why not?? It is our money, not theirs paid in..The bank on us dying before having to pay out..Life expectancy right now is longer and they see that as a negative, not factured in when they set up Social Security??? I am sure somewhere along the line you have read this as an excuse of government?? What does that tell you??

LJ, you have done a great job of talking about Agenda 21 and what they stand for. That whole plan is being sneaked into out country through some rather false methods and only fools who just can't see it coming will allow it to happen. I have been reading up on Agenda 21 for too long now to think they are anything but what the One World people want to use against primarily the US. Have you seen the map of the US that they are proposing to use once they take over? I am sure that few, if any, left leaners really understand how they want to cram us into areas where there won't long be room and they will have to starve or kill us. We just have too many people to suit them and what they want to do to this country is to destroy it completely.

This meat and dairy program is aimed at being part of the starvation thing since they plan to move all the people to certain areas and turn over the real food producing areas to wild animals. Scary as hell but leaners just can't understand any of it.

Thank You oldroy....I do pay attention to it from an educational standpoint every now and then..I don't spend a lot of time with it because one could become paranoid and hit that dooms day mentality...It is reality but for many they do not acknowledge its existence let alone that it is in motion....The Illuminati, Agenda 21 and One World Order is in fact reality in time to come..

Sons of Liberty has posted some excellent sites to read about it and along with them another warning from a fellow poster that said don't read it, satan in the making it is...I agree with that too but feel it imperative to at least be aware and know what to do should it ever happen in our time..That, I do not will take place..They have been formulating and implementing for hundreds of years as it is...But it is being pushed more so now,I think...

Life worth living, we need to LIVE IT!! One never knows when we're done....While I do not fear death I damn sure want no regrets of living, loving and doing~~~~We only have this one time, right???????
