OK folks; here is food for thought. The US is the only country on this earth that has a FOR PROFIT health care system... The sicker we are the more money the system makes. The CEO of one of the most advertised US supplemental health insurance companies has to make it on a salary of Six Million dollars. Now, you may think that is not unusual for the CEO of a national corporation to make that kind of money.......right? But folks, that six mill is not per year!.... Its per week!...... And to think that the quality of health care in the US is ranked only 8th in the world..... Cuba is ranked 1st with China 2nd. Go on the net and check it out.

How do you think Africans got their food in Africa? From Kroger's?

They were hunter/gathers back in Africa for the most part. Only place that could be farmed was along rivers & streams, a lot of desert and no water, makes it hard to grow your own food. A lot of Africans today, live in mud huts, so there is water there.
Research is showing that they are trying to grow their own, ancient trade routes indicated farming was around as far back as the 600 AD.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_history_of_Africa#Origins_of_agricultureNo Kroger's over there, that's for sure.

From Wikilpedia re the Congo:
The agricultural sector supports two-thirds of the population. Agricultural production has stagnated since independence. The principal crops are cassava, yams, plantains, rice, and maize. The country is not drought-prone but is handicapped by a poor internal transportation system, which impedes the development of an effective national urban food-supply system.

That is now, what about in the 1800's. War lords selling their people into slavery, they knew how to raise the crops, just like our Native Americans. They had to learn how to be slaves, which in my opinion should have never happened. Today, those parents whose grand parents were slaves or childern of slaves, should be grabbing their great grand childern and asking them to think about their roots. They have it better than some white folk now aday.

You miss the point which is that Africans had agriculture and did not need white crackers to show them cultivation.

Think what you will but if the major powers have their way we may see that large scale war that many seem to want.
This time around damage will be more wide spread & deeper. The down trodden with survive & pick up the pieces & put things back together.
While the major countries will not have much to pick up after the fighting is done.
They will just not know how to live with their broken system.
As for me. At my age I can only hope that I can stay out of the line of fire one day at a time & hope for cooler heads to prevail. And hope that my body holds together enough to use the basic skills that I have. Skills that have not been put to the test for some time.
I keep looking for those that have it all to see that they have it all to loose. In the drive to have more they have taken to much.
It is those use to having less that will gain. They will gain not by winning But they will win because they can live with less.
The basic skills in life will be in the greatest demand.

Has anyone ever asked themselves what they would be capable of accomplishing if tomorrow they found themselves naked and back in the stone age? Assuming, of course, they still remember the modern world they once occupied. What contributions could they make in an attempt to recreate the world they remember, as they attempt to survive? The most pressing situation would be food and water, but how would they get food unless it grew on trees. Small animals could possibly be trapped using crude traps, there are no guns for bagging bigger animals. How about utensils? No modern silverware is laying around. Fingers will have to do, or perhaps crude chopsticks could be created using sticks. Also, there are no means for smelting metal either, and most probably wouldn't know how anyway.
One could go on with this scenario indefinitely. I've analysed my abilities and what I might be able to contribute. I think at best, I could attempt to create a crude wheel. Not much, in the way of getting back to a world remembered. And, that's, if I lived more than a week!

I see it that in the world today that there are many living on a very limited basis. Those are the ones that I say will have the best chance of surviving.
