The Quiet Revolution

I originally wrote this article back in March and posted it on my personal blog site, onlymakessense.com. This is a condensed version due to the word count limitation for articles on this site. The full original article is still posted on my blog site.

Recently I heard a Fox News contributor, while talking about the current national mood regarding politics say, “we are seeing a quiet revolution”. Regarding it being “quiet”, I can only assume she meant that it was not being done with guns (up to this point?) like previous revolutions.
As I thought about what she said it seemed to be the perfect phrase to describe what is happening in America today and how long it has been building up to “revolution” status. Republicans, Democrats, Independents, libertarians and people who simply were not involved in politics at all are so tired of “politics as usual” that they are literally taking action to “throw the bums out”. They are mad at liberal Democrats, rino Republicans and almost everyone in between. I have personally heard people say, “I have never registered or voted but I am going to in this election”
.
For several days after I heard her say that I thought about the significance of what is happening in America now and how far back the roots of this movement go. The more I thought about it the more convinced I am that it has been a long time coming and that it is clearly happening in America at an accelerating rate.

As I studied and thought about this it seemed clear to me that this “quiet revolution” began in the sixties with President Kennedy’s assassination and Johnson becoming president. Johnson was one of the most “political” Presidents in our history. He was a smart, manipulating, coercive, intimidating, and win at any cost politician. With him everything was political. During the fifty years since the sixties we now have a president who appears to be the same but is in fact totally different. With President Obama everything is totally about himself and his ideologue. With him the political system is merely a way for him to continually stoke his insatiable ego and his personal agenda. His administration did not create the “quiet revolution” but they did bring it to a boiling point.

So now we have the “quiet revolution” which is not so quiet and gaining in volume every day. This is what Trump and Sanders has tapped into and the movement is growing. The party leaders (I use that term loosely) in both parties had better pay attention, especially the rino Republicans! Anyone remember Eric Cantor?

And as you have mentioned it is happening on both sides of the isle. At first the liberal media thought it was only on the republican side and the fights they had on the campaign trail and then the democrats and their superdelegates all going to Clinton even though Sanders is winning a good majority of states. Both sides are mad as hell and want things changed.

Sheer nonsense.

Everybody is mad at being poorer today than yesterday because Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats increased FICA tax for workers and cut capital gains tax for the rich and sent good jobs to Asia.

Obama had nothing to do with FICA or capital gains. He is trying to send more jobs to Asia but Bernie won't let him.

He's working from a different direction tool.

I do not believe in such thing as "quiet revolutions" although the underlying forces that eventually erupt and provoke the uprising of the masses are always there and go through different stages. For me, it is fair to say America is in a pre-revoltionary stage, meaning that general social conditions are met - both, Trumpt and Sanders are the expression of that - but there is need for a vanguard to lead and call the masses to mobilize on behalf of the causes that oppose the rulers´agenda.

The World is at a crossroads right now. As "The Iron Heel" holds fast we´ll witness economic collapse and cultural melt down. Civilization would be lost forever. The Trump´s "Movement" has a better chance to evolve and become trully revolutionary, in spite of Trump maybe, but more deliberating and mobilization action is needed.

If people remain quiet, hoping a messiah is coming to seize power through elections and carry out a revolution from top-down, the Jack London´s dystopia, "The Iron Heel" would become reality!

A Messiah is truly coming but not through elections but out of prophecy of the scriptures and it won't be until civilization has melted down and the end is near that he will return and set up his kingdom here on earth. And we shall have a new heaven and a new earth for behold the old has passed away and all things become new. Rev. 21:1

The increase in FICA was Reagan's Social Security "reform".

It was a time of compromise and consensus. Words unknown in today's Washinton.

It was a time of conspiracy to enrich the rich and screw hard-working people.

In today's Washington, the servants of the rich are cutting spending to cut taxes to conserve the treasures of the rich.

Let the bridges fall into the river but stop the spending!

It's King Louis all over again:"After I am gone, let the flood rage!"!
