In November the American people will have to choose between what may well be the worst nominees for President in modern history. Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are making promises and commitments they have no intention or ability to honor. Neither can they reverse the course the nation is on, as they and their respective parties do not have the desire or the capability to do so. Only the American people can rescue the nation for generations yet unborn. They must open their eyes to the reality of human nature that the Founders understood and take advantage of the framework they so masterfully devised.

Who could deny that either party or candidate will have trouble delivering on their promises, but Ii see nothing of what Clinton is promising that we would want or need. Trump certainly cannot deliver on all of his promises but he has the greatest chance of delivering on SOME of them.

And certainly yes, human nature has us here where we sit, with over half of the population of the States on the Gov tit. We might be beyond any point of recovery from this condition short of a revolution of sorts. To cut off the flow of the tit, will no doubt bring plenty of strife.

How many states have joined and how many do we need to join? Do we have any control over whether the states are liberal or conservative and does this even matter. I don't know all that I should about the convention of states and I think others need to be brought up to speed. What other information do you have on the Tasine just curious. I also see this as a need to get back to putting God back in our society as well as ridding our society of all Muslims because if they truly believe the Koran then they cannot promise allegiance to America because they swear allegiance to Allah and the Koran first. As we are witnessing the destruction of the UK we will also see this in America if we continue bringing in Muslims to our country as well. Anything that they say is a lie and they will turn against us when they have sufficient population to do so.

I agree, but WHY will candidates NOT talk about what is ACTUALLY HAPPENING AND WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT? I don't want to hear lies....have been hearing lies forever. Would LOVE to hear some TRUTH. Encouragement is one thing, but to imply that all will be well is merely feeding the wishing well, NOT getting to the grit of the matter. Winning is no win if expectations are NOT MET, at least that is so to conservatives. As for the left, I think they will cheerfully accept as gospel truth whatever one of their "leaders" tells them - even when the exact opposite is being witnessed. The left NEVER fights its leaders.......they obey in the manner sheep will always respond. Conservatives are NOT sheep, so why are so many willing to act like sheep? I find that insulting. I think the writer of the article is exactly on target and the ONLY way to get our government straightened out is via State Conventions......get the states to reclaim their rights....we don't need Congress OR the President to do that, and we can readily reach out to our state people. THAT will be when we find out what our elected officials actually ARE. IF THEY then start a war, we could then finish it.

I wish I could do just that, Wolf counselor, but both worry and lack of funds prevent me from doing a great deal. I do believe I live most moments to the fullest, but never am I without that concern that my nation is for all intents and purposes DEAD. I feel the problems we find so repulsive could be so easily solved IF WE COULD FIND A WAY TO FORCE FAIRNESS BETWEEN THE TWO MAJOR PARTIES. UNFORTUNATELY, WE BOTH KNOW THAT CANNOT BE DONE - EVER. America's future will get far worse and will never recover........the left will see to that, and will be well supported by republican politicians.

I agree with you. The states are going to have to take back their rights.

As to why a politician doesn't talk about things, well, it's politics; one of the failings of an elected government. Romney told the truth about the a few things, it got leaked out to the 48% on the gov tit, and he lost their vote. Both candidates will be careful not to say something which the other can twist to drive votes away from their competition. Of course if the population were able to think and see the true problem we have with the country, this would not be a problem. But seriously, our population lacks that ability. They will vote based upon something stupid like Clinton being a woman, or not liking Trumps rhetoric or the way he speaks, or his previous statements that we need to be careful about immigration which has been twisted into being "bigoted" statements, which they were not.

And the fact is, many who claim to be conservatives are actually sheep of a different color. They embrace conspiracy theories, they bang their bibles and wave their guns like idiots. It's not that I think they shouldn't have their bible faith or their guns, but they act like, I guess, idiots, for lack of a better word.

You can bet most will vote their pocket books, too, no matter the effect it has on the country in the long run.

I cannot argue with a single word you have said. But, those who vote their pocketbooks obviously don't realize they are doing more harm to themselves than to most others. That pocketbook they want so desperately to protect WILL BE GOING AWAY NO MATTER WHAT, if not now, then later, but unsustainability cannot overcome unsustainability with no attention to LACK OF MONEY. I, too rely on a government annuity because of my husband's service and a meager SS check. When government falls, when our economy fails, I fail big time.........as will every other American who places any reliance on government. Yes, we PAID FOR SS AND WE PAID FOR ANNUITY, BUT WITHOUT MONEY, WE WILL NOT RECEIVE SAME. Why do some people have so much trouble realizing that? Furthermore, when all of us fall, why will businesses continue doing well........they WON'T. ALL of us are in this together, both left and right, and the left REFUSES TO SEE AND ACCEPT FACTS THAT WILL AFFECT THEM AS READILY AS THEY AFFECT THE REST OF US.

Neither Trump of Clinton will slow down the grasp for control into fewer & fewer hands.

The Few have no interest in slowing down the gathering of more control.

This greed will only lead to the failing of this great Nation.

Just how far back in time do those that want to take us back to?

It may well be to late for most of Us to retain what little we have been able to attain.

If we are to go back then I say we go back to the days without the Money Changers.

Those were the days of greatest personal freedoms.

We need not go back that far & we can regain freedoms if we can lessen the impact of the money changers.

Just easing how much wealth is suck out of the main stream of the system would set Us back on truly being the Great Nation we were.

For if this nation dies the will be little wealth for any one.

Only those that can live with the least will be left.

So if you wish this Nation to protect you & your way of life you need to support what others have & need.

It is time to see that 90% or more of Us are in this fight for our personal well being.

Do we make small changes or will there be mass failure.

Some of Us l have to do with less now & more each day will have to do with less as the system.

Our personal security & well being depends greatly on the security & well being of those around Us.

Tasine.....you do not know what you are saying. There is a huge difference between the 2 running for president. Clinton is a liar . She has many medical problems. She has not been allowed to drive a car for almost 20 years. Then there is the e-mail problem. And several more things that should put her in jail. On the other hand, Trump will stop illegal immigration and try to stop ISIS from killing, raping and hating. Send them back to where they came from. They also hate dogs and kill them very painfully. Obama and Clinton do not seem to care, but I am sure Trump does as well as right thinking Americans do.
