My son, Dale.

I am Bernie. About a year ago, I asked for prayer for my son who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He has had a rough year, but improving over the last several months. However, it has now reached a stage where it appears the chemo and radiation have done all they are able to do. He is a strong believer and is confident of his future. His concern is for his wife and 11 yr old adopted daughter as well as his two boys and one 2 yr old grandson. I would like to ask for prayer for him and his family as we face a tough next few months. He writes on Caring Bridge and has many praying for recovery. It is now more for comfort for him and his family in the last stages of this terrible disease. If anyone would consider holding him up in prayer, we would appreciate it. His mother died 15 yrs ago and his step-mom & I would like to be able to visit him (350 miles) before he gets really sick. We love him so much. He is my best friend. Thank you.

He and the entire family are in our prayers. If you have not put this on the Prayer Team thread please do so, or I can do so if you prefer.

I am not familiar with how to do that, NPP. If you could do that I would be grateful. Thanks.

Thank you so much. We are heading for Nashville tomorrow. We are praying for a pleasant visit and that he will have more quality time left than it appears now. They are considering Hospice at this time. He would still like to preach at his church on 5/22 & 5/29. He has done that a few times before but it seems questionable now. God Bless you. Bernie

My son, Dale, who I have reported suffering with pancreatic cancer, has suffered a setback since I posted on May 12 and he has been placed under hospice care about a week ago. I talked with him last night(he lives 350 miles away in Nashville). We visited there before the hospice care and he has gotten worse since then. He said, "Dad, this is moving pretty fast and I think I'm going to be seeing Jesus pretty soon". We pretty much said our goodbyes last night. I can't tell you how this is affecting me. I am so happy that he will soon be free from pain and joining his mother, but it also means we won't be fishing together or golfing or enjoying breakfast. Please pray that his kids and 2 yr old grandson be comforted in this terrible time.

I'm so very sorry for the pain that you and your loved ones are going through. I can't imagine losing my son. I can tell by your son's words that he is just 'going home' and he will soon be with his Mom. My husband and I will be praying for you and his kids and grandson and all other loved ones. May God wrap his arms around your son and keep him comfortable until time to go home, and may He wrap his arms around the rest of you and give you strength and courage. I am also going to pray for anyone in your family that doesn't know the Lord. You and your son are such a wonderful testimony of a family that believes in the Lord and I believe that people are able to see this at times like this. God bless you and your family from me and my family, Jack and Sam

Thanks so much for your kind words. It is a comfort to know that other Christians are praying for us. May God bless you.

I'm sorry and saddened to report that my son, Dale, died on Sat, May 27, after a 16 month battle with pancreatic cancer. His pain is over and he will be with his mother who we lost 15 years ago when we were hit by another car in an accident on I-65 not far from our home. Dale was truly a man-of-God. He loved The Lord and was saddened only by having to leave his family. My wife and I are driving down today to visit our loved ones and attend a memorial service in Nashville. He was my best friend and even though I know he is happy and pain-free now, I miss him more than I can say. Thanks to all for your prayers. Bernie

Your pain is shared with all those who prayed for him. Know that now he is with Jesus. May the memories of his strength and faith be with you always and guide you in your prayers and decisions. He is waiting with God for the time that you all will be together again, one with the spirit and the love of God for ever.
