Reduce working week to 30 hours, say economists

The 30 hr work week was what technology was supposed to bring to the working people of the world. With the same amount of weekly pay. What happened though is that the people at the top of the ladder took all the money and laid us all off, moved for cheaper labor, or shut down. Back in the 60's my father worked in a steel mill and made about 10,000 a year. The CEO made 25 times as much. Check out that comparison today. The CEO's now make between 300 to 400 times the average workers salary.

I worked for a French company for years and your right 30 hours a week dosn't work very well. Of course when put with a job for life plus benefits out the ying yany that didn't work at all. Their staff of French is less than half and all production is elsewhere. For 25 years they produced here but after NAFTA came along they found they could produce the same products elsewhere and as long as they headquarter here could aviod the higher taxes.

WHO? I worked for Silor when they were an American company sort of. They bought Milton Roy and then became Essilor. MR made glass eye lenses, Silor/Essilor made plactic lens, Essilor owns 49% of Transitions with PPG owning 51%.

Bonduelle is a large frozen food company in Europe. Like Green Giant in America.

$170-$180, plus: another $100 per diem, free travel expenses, free limos, free parking, free hair cuts and shoe shines, Cadillac health insurance and a fat pension after only 8 yrs in office and can draw it upon leaving office. All the while working folks are slaving away to pay for it all.

Free haircuts!! I pay full price, and I don't have a lot of hair anymore! Now I'm mad!

Oldest son has a landing strip for flies while his dad still has a full head of hair. 7 bucks for his trim while I still pay 10.

I asked my plumber to clean out the shower drain from hair build up. He looked at my head and laughed.
