The problem is, most people don't seek information or even value information, but only search for justification of what we already believe. This is the human thinking flaw that causes most of the beliefs in absurdities as being somehow evidence based. This is a flaw that makes some of us into financial losers and politically ignorant. It is a flaw that we all suffer from to some degree.

My soul is free. I have seen that most people in government lie to us occasionally because we wouldn't vote for them if they didn't lie to us. We are not able to tolerate the truth and certainly don't seek it.
All media is biased in different directions, purposely or not.
Fortunately we have some media that attempts to be unbiased as well as that which is pure propaganda.
The hope is that most Americans will be smart enough to know that any statement about all media being biased is nonsense and to believe no media is biased is nonsense. It is important that we can have our shit detectors operational during exposure to all media.
