A Muslim judge using Quran for her swearing-in

I can't believe that NYC allowed a judge using Quran for swearing-in office. The US constitution and Quran are totally opposite from one another so how do we expect her to rule? By the Quran law or the US Constitution?

Using Quran to swear-in an office is totally against our Constitution.

Please advise the portion of The Constitution that indicates one may not use the Qu'ran for swearing-in ceremonies. Or if the Constitution makes a specific callout of what book must be used. I'm unaware of such rules being called out in our Constitution.

The No Religious Test Clause of the United States Constitution is a clause within Article VI, Clause 3. By its plain terms, no federal office holder or employee can be required to adhere to or accept any particular religion or doctrine as a prerequisite to holding a federal office or a federal government job. It immediately follows a clause requiring all federal and state officers to take an oath or affirmation to support the Constitution. This clause contains the only explicit reference to religion in the original seven articles of the U.S. Constitution.

You can swear on nothing or a coloring book, there is no requirement of one book or another.

This has been discussed several times on this site and you are furthering ignorance to continue to bring it up.

Our leadership is required to follow the law not their religion.

....or are you not familiar with the first amendment?

FACT! Nowhere in the US Constitution does it mention the word religion except for in exclusionary terms!

SinnieK, unfortunately I have to agree with these posters. Although I do not like it or approve of it as I am a Christian, one can place their hand on anything they want when swearing into office. Maybe one day this can change to having one standard thing all who take on oath places their hands on so as to not offend anyone. America is filled with a broad range of Americans of different races and religions, but in the end all are Americans. Maybe all oath takers should be required to place their hands on a copy of the U.S. Constitution as that is what they are swearing to uphold.

This has gone around several times... I saw it a few months ago.

This is contrary to the Society & rules of Judgeships in America.
The swearing in is not recognized under the Koran.

I'm not an expert but would love for one to weigh in on this.

Her Oath is invalid

INVALID and as far as I know no Muslims are permitted to Judge a Christian Citizen or Catholic for that matter.

Either way she won't uphold the Jurisprudence Doctrines of the trade and our Bill of Rights as they are written under a Christian GOD !

GAME OVER !

I hope someone takes the shot or she dies in an accident or something.

Don't be surprised if they try to put a Muslim in SCOTUS !
This will trigger a Revolution and an assassination.

I hope that ScumBag Mother FUCKER Barry try's it.

GAME OVER Again !

While I appreciate your strong feelings on the topic, why haven't you answered my question?
