I Refuse to Fall Into The "Divide & Conquer" Mentality

Hello all. I am a 59 year old woman living in the mountains of New England. Although I am, by self-definition, a recovering liberal, I assign myself to no particular political party, having come to the conclusion that democrats, republicans, et al are nothing more than colluding corrupt cohorts. I see myself as an AMERICAN first and foremost. My views lean to the conservative. I write and share my political views on a number of internet sites. I am not politically correct (not to say that I am rude or crude, just honest as I see things).
I am concerned for my country. I am seeking to branch out to others for debate and discussion.

Welcome, I am fairly new here myself.....I, too, used to be a liberal, but many, many years ago. The last democrat I voted for, was Jimmie Carter. It did not take me long to realize what a mistake that was!!! I agree with you about "Today's" Republicans, they are entrenched, and have been in office WAY TOO LONG!!! They go along to get along, and are ONLY interested in ONE thing, and that's re-election, period!!! Again, welcome, I look forward to some intelligent discourse.

I wish you could put into words for us what was it that changed it for you and what was the defining moment when you realized the lie ao the left. Divide and conquer has been working for a very long time, this mess we are in proves it, not to mention all of the name calling. People can't figure out both sides are corrupt, but they will.

Welcome aboard Penny I hope you enjoy your time here. As you may have noticed that there are liberals on these sites and I don't know if they are Obama plants or if they are just here to cause trouble. Anyway as you journey here you will come across some of them and how you deal with them is up to you. Most of them I ignore and won't waste getting upset at them as it does no good. Most of them are entrenched in their socialist doctrinal belief and they believe that they are doing good for humanity. In their radical belief they refuse to accept reality and truth as that interferes with their belief of government being the cure all for society. Oh and by the way when you answer someone use the quote reply tag as that will let everyone know as to who and what you are replying to.
