Eight Law Enforcement Officers Already Murdered in 2016

So far, in 2016, EIGHT American U.S. Law officers have been shot to death, with SIX of them occurring in ONE WEEK, a significant rise from this time last year.

Violence against police peaked in 2011 with 72 officers killed as a result of felonious incidents, the highest since 1994. It dropped to 27 deaths in 2013, but nearly doubled to 51 officers killed in 2014.

While President Obama, and the Democratic candidates vying to succeed him, are putting America's police departments on trial in the court of public opinion, the murder of police officers on America's streets is being met with a “DEAFENING SILENCE."

“I cannot recall any time in recent years when six law enforcement professionals have been murdered by gunfire in multiple incidents in a single week,” National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund CEO Craig W. Floyd said in a statement Friday. “Already this year there have been eight officers shot and killed, compared to just one during the same period last year and represents a very troubling trend."

The relative SILENCE on officer deaths contrasts with the Democratic candidates’ often FIERY language on police brutality against African-Americans. When it came to the issue of law enforcement at a recent Democratic debate, the candidates focused almost exclusively on “police reform, as if that should be the main objective in reducing the number of African-American deaths. Of course, we all know, or should know by now, that the greatest number of African-American deaths comes from black on black crime. The Democrats would never admit that - after all, it's an election year - and it certainly would not boost their political or personal ambitions to fault people whose votes they crave.

The Democrats would have done themselves and the African- American community a much better service had they accessed the website below. Let's face it, it's so much easier, though shameful, to blame the police, especially since they're the ones who risk THEIR LIVES to come to assist you when you need protection. If, however, you are interested in facts and the REAL TRUTH, it is a worthwhile read and reference.

I think that a number of these killings have been done because of the black lives matter, Why don't we talk about something that has to be done in the poor neighborhoods of this country and not to be always blaming the police. Granted, there are some law officers that should not wearing the uniform, but the majority of officers are dedicated to the protection of all people not just whites as some have suggested. I know this because my dad was a police officer and he always told me that all people matter if they do not try do others harm. He worked in a black neighbor hood where he was respected by the people, they knew he would help them or he would arrest them if they committed a crime. He was shot by a robber and ran over by a car while directing traffic around a accident when hit by a drunk driver and never wavered in his duty to all people.

Louie, You must be so proud of your Dad, and your post certainly proves that. And if I'm correct, your service is also something to which you can point to with pride.

Don't know if you've heard, but this morning there was a story on Fox News about a highly decorated Marine who was eating in a McDonald's, at the back of the restaurant. A group of young men and at least one girl approached his table and asked him "Do you think Black Lives Matter?" The Marine arose and left the restaurant. The group followed him, and then beat him unconscious. They stripped him of everything he had and ran. BTW, the attack was videoed. The white Marine said that there was no doubt that the attack was racially motivated.

And you're so right, Louie. This black-on-black crime must stop, but it also must start within the community. "You cannot change what you don't acknowledge." (Dr. Phil) It is so easy to blame others for your own misdeeds or deficiencies. Whenever I think of the incidents that prompted the "Black Lives Matter" movement, I recall that the problems exacerbated because the suspects resisted arrest. If the alleged perpetrators had complied with the officer's directions, those men would still be alive today.
