Seriously. I see it all the time. The parents are porkers and so are their kids. Being that fat will cause health problems. It is a parents duty to raise healthy children. If they refuse to do so, someone should do something about it. This excludes, of course, medical conditions that may lead to weight gain. What do you think?

You mean like that "HONEY BOO BOO"? I would think not as much for that kid being FAT but for how that kid is being raised! Disgusting!
No I don't believe so. My 2 kids ate the same exact foods. My older daughter was always thin and my younger daughter was fat. Then in High School the fat one (now 22)suddenly lost weight and shot up from 5 foot 2 to 5'7" and is now a long legged thin beautiful blonde. She did nothing to her diet. Sometimes its just metabolism.

I completely agree with you Vladimir. I had 6 kids and although none of them could be termed 'porkers' they ALL had completely different bodily changes as they grew up. Some plump, some pencil thin and some just average! It is 90% of the metabolism. I had one who could eat the entire refrigerator and not gain an ounce, and only had to look at food and she gain weight! Go figure!

No, they should not. Fat is generated by the body to encapsulate toxins in our environment so as to protect the body's major organs. If fat were so bad, why all the fat people today after 2 million years of Darwin's natural selection?
Look at our grains, for instance, full of molds, mildewcides and pesticides. Some people have resorted to making their own bread at home, using unbleached flours, substitutes such as oats, potatoes, and rice flours that are more resilient to wheat rust.
Other toxins include a vast array of herbicides, pesticides and toxins such as Bi-phenals in plastics that induce cancers and hormone depletion. Of course, the EPA and FDA are well aware of the history of all these toxins they have propagated and covered up, but now they want to blame the public for this health predicament?
Damn this HHS government nanny state. We must shut down this bureaucratic racket before it is the death of mankind.

I'm talking about seriously fat kids, who are allowed, by their parents, to eat anything they want. I understand about different metabolisms and all that, but you have to draw the line somewhere. Don't you? Wouldn't you agree that it should be a crime for a parent to let their kid get extremely obese? Were talking some serious health problems in that kids future.

The government can't even do the few things enumerated in the Constitution, for God's sake! Let their families deal with that shit!
In many cases they are provided poor diets and the poor claim it is cheaper to buy fast food which is nonsense. You can eat healthier than fast food for much less.

Well, just offhand I'd point out it's more
work to prepare at home. ;-)

I believe you're onto something there.
It certainly is but costs less even with little effort.
A rotisserie Chicken COOKED and warm from a local market costs $6.99 and can feed 4. Add some carrots and taters and you have a good meal that is $2.00 a person

Nope. I/we actually rarely eat out, preferring to prepare our own meals. With Vladi and MsAtta2d, I was referring to their responses to the question of the thread topic.
