There is NO immigration problem other than impatience. We are continuing to use the system that has stood us in good stead for over a hundred years. It is a very logical system that benefits both our nation and its prospective new citizens. It is a patient process, designed to provide the best result possible in gaining new immigrants for us and for them.

Requirements include applying for citizenship, undergoing a quarantine and ensuring we have a need for the newcomers occupation, getting a sponsor, learning our official language, our laws and customs, making arrangements for a job and finding lodging, and taking an oath of allegiance. It is capped with a ceremony welcoming the new citizens. Its intent is to minimize citizen candidates problems and to ensure they can contribute to our national needs and that, in fact, they want to become citizens of the United States.

This logical and legal process has been confounded by a group of impatient, non-citizens, making demands that are irrelevant, and immaterial. They are nothing more than wannabe graspers desiring to immediately obtain any and all benefits conceivably available to include welfare, medical, educational, retirement, etc. All of which we have earned and set aside for our old age benefit and that are now being illegally plundered with the assistance of pandering politicians in the hopes of buying votes from these illegal sponges.

They have NO right, legal or otherwise, to demand any sort of special accommodation in obtaining citizenship, no matter the impatience factor. It is our country and our laws and if they want to participate as Americans, they will do well to acquiesce to our laws. Get in line and wait with patience as all others before have done. Anything less is pure irresponsibility and treachery by our own citizenry.

Further, they demand all these benefits not only for themselves but also for their extended families. They want "anchor baby" rights for their kids that were illegally born here and then often want to coattail on the kids citizenship's to obtain their own citizenship. And you can't return either group to their country of origin without being accused of breaking up their families. My solution is to bundle up the whole kit and kaboodle and send them packing back home along with a bill for all the expenses we have paid on their behalf, at their home countries expense. If their country of origin doesn't want to reimburse us, take the amount of the trip and all our expenses supporting them from the foreign aid we pay their country of origin. Should they illegally return here, charge the Country of origin twice their expenses in returning them.

It is long past time we quit pandering to illegal requests on behalf of illegal immigrants to the benefit of a group of politicians that sense some sort of electoral opportunity. Get ALL these illegals out of our Republic and let those that are crime free get in at the end of the line as have the others from their circumstances. And to those, Welcome! And the same goes for the current crop of "refugees" from the middle East. It is essential we regain our resolve to become a nation of laws rather than a pack of scofflaws, kowtowing to those that mean us no good and would want to take us over.

It is time we inform our politicians and bureaucrats that their perfidy is no longer acceptable and failure to clean up this situation will not be looked upon with favor.

Very well stated !!! Any person that has entered this country illegal should never be given any government assistance or obtain privileges like a driver license, etc.

A person who enters the country illegally should be imprisoned and deported with arrangements made so that he can never return.

I agree, but hasten to add this solution:
First off, no illegal alien is crime free since they broke the law coming here or overstaying their visas.
Now what we do is advertise that they all have to leave by date certain.
Those that wish to come back can enter a camp that will build our border wall for one year.
If they've been deported before, their cost is one year additional per deportation.
While in camp, they will learn our laws, language, history and customs
Their labor will apply to fines, taxes and penalties accrued during their illegal stays
Credit will be given for voluntary compliance
If we have to arrest them, the costs of apprehension and processing will be added
Once they have served their compliance, they leave and go to the back of the line pro-rated to their date of compliance
They pay for their own food and services with Camp Scrip earned
