I don't particularly care for the word in this headline that reads "Expected".
Shouldn't it have read "No Collision Will Occur"?

NASA Predicts Near-Miss with Asteroid on Halloween

This Halloween, a huge asteroid will be hurdling toward Earth. but before you get too frightened and start thinking about scenes from "Deep Impact" or "Armageddon." keep in mind it's not likely to hit our planet. Meteorologist Domenica Davis has the details.

Uh...."not likely"?
And this was just discovered 2 weeks ago?
Interesting to say the least.

It is interesting that we are still subject to surprises from space. Not really unexpected though since we have so little knowledge of what's actually out there.

One thing is certain....there is a space rock with the Earth's name on it. It's not a question of if, but when. I tend to agree with you that the headline should not have included 'expected' since the calculations show we have nothing to fear but a hyperventilating media.

Only 2 things were strange in this article which was released today.
First....they claim they just discovered this 2 weeks ago and that isn't the unusual part. The part that I don't get is why didn't they release this info 2 weeks ago when they discovered it?
Second....two terms were used, no collision is "expected" and it's "not likely" to hit us.
Sounds to me they are leaving some wiggle room.
But that's just me.
No worries, right?

Hey, maybe it's the Great Pumpkin that isn't expected to hit the earth. Make for a great Halloween if it did.

If the GP WAS going to hit, we could send thousands of whiney liberal arts majors to the ground zero location before the splatter by telling them there will be free Pumpkin Spice Fa La Lattes if they bring their own cups!

Oh yeah...here's my FULL armor:

Woofie is losing his pathetic propaganda war and most don't even pay attention to his nonsense anymore.

And as you specifically pointed out Blade....he can't even read.

Here's his treat:

You mean you're not predicting that it will hit. God you are getting mellow on us BD. How does it feel not to panic over everything that hits your inbox. You feel okay?

bdamage, is that your family crest to? If so, it is a good one. If all Americans had similar values, America wouldn't be in trouble like now.
