I understand the nature of steel when its heated.

It doesn't weaken until heated to about 1800 degrees F.
Steel doesn't melt until it reaches 2800 degrees F

The fires inside the Towers could not possibly have burned hotter than 1200 degrees F

No, two passenger jets were flown into the sides of the buildings delivering an enormous ammount of fuel over a number of floors, winds then built the temperature of fire to the point that the structural steel that had been stripped of insulation failed in the high temperature. The building collapse was a textbook pancake collapse where the structure below cannot withstand the kinetic energy the tremendous weight of all of the derbies moving down rapidly from above. It appears you are overdue for some more electro shock therapy.

Steel is somewhat mailable and visibly red in the dark at a bit over 700F, it will bend pretty easily under load at 1000F. Steel structural elements fail during routine building fires, the results can be observed on a regular basis all around the country. A standard house fire ventilated in ten miles an hour of wind is hot enough to effect the state of steel, it need not melt only heat to the point of mailability. This can be observed with a coal fire and a air bellows in the blacksmith demonstration at the county fair.

As far as structural steel collapsing from fire, many buildings have burned for much longer--one for over 20 hours while being completely consumed in flames. All remained standing.

WTC7 was not hit by a plane and sustained only minor damage from exploding debris from the closest tower.

Once again, I agree! You are spot on on this one. I went to school for horseshoeing/blacksmithing. I don't know the numbers, but I know what steel does with different levels of heat.
