A new study led by David Ramey, an assistant professor of sociology and criminology at Pennsylvania State University, found that public school districts with large Black populations had significantly higher rates of suspensions and expulsions than school districts with predominantly White populations. The study collected and analyzed data from 60,000 schools in 6,000 school districts across the country.

The results show that disciplinary problems in school districts with large Black populations were more likely to be reported to police and other law enforcement authorities than was the case in predominantly White districts. The study also found that school districts with large Black populations were less likely than predominantly White districts to consider medical or counseling treatments for behavioral problems.

Dr. Ramey notes that “for the same minor levels of misbehaviors — for example, classroom disruptions, talking back — White kids tend to get viewed as having ADHD, or having some sort of behavioral problem, while Black kids are viewed as being unruly and unwilling to learn.”

Dr. Ramey states that “there’s been a real push toward school safety and there’s been a real push for schools to show they are being accountable. But, any zero-tolerance policy or mandatory top-down solutions might be undermining what would be otherwise good efforts at discipline, and not establishing an environment based around all the options available.”

Although i cannot speak for the issues in heavy black dominated areas, i can say if our kids would behave like civilized humans instead of freakin animals in public this would be a non issue. I have 3 school age daughters in variuos grades, i attend the functions like soccer, softball, track and etc, black, white, brown or any other race attending all act like freakin animals when their parents are not present.I blame the parents for not being there whatever the reason being,and i assure you this is a correctable problem.......it starts at home....we are the problem sir.

1) This is an opinion about a study. No numbers given.

2) The conclusion is either:
.a) Black kids don't behave as well as white kids.
.b) School administrators in black neighborhoods are racist.

Well, both are true to a point.

Because black Americans are more likely to have a welfare check in the place of a father, it stands to reason they'll be be more unruly as a group.

And because black neighborhoods are most often run by Democrats, well of course they're more likely to be racists.

Schools made up of predominantly black students are predominantly located in cities and towns predominantly run for years by predominantly Democrats - so clearly this problem is caused by Republicans.

There are urban schools where the average girl has more that one child (Chicago, average 1.2 children)before graduating. And people wonder why there are problems.

When people are paid to have kids and punished if they have a stable family, and then told that immorality is the norm, it's not rocket science to see this kind of thing coming.
