suicide bombers and drone strikes

It occurs to me, in light of the shootings of our military folks in Tennessee, that there might be some correlation between suicide attacks on our military and the use of drones as weapons of assassination.

Both are asymmetric warfare and both rely on stealth and surprise. Is there really any difference between have a bomb dropped out of the sky and killing whoever is within the area and attacking any target of opportunity for the so called lone wolf?

I'm thinking that as long as we use drones to do our dirty work, the 'random' attacks on our military will continue.

Tit for tat attacks are just plain stupid.
We take out one "leader" and a new one comes up, it we didn't make power grabs so easy maybe the struggles would go on between the militants over there and there would be less to blame Americans for.

Why are we over there?

At this point I don't know.
I think that the only US obligation in the ME is supporting Israel (and not blindly either). Beyond that we seem to have stumbled into the international equivalent of a 'domestic disturbance' among the different sects and factions and don't know who is right or wrong, nor even what the stupid arguments are about. When listening to Cheney and Rumsfeld during the Iraq war, I realized that neither one of them had a clue as to the complexity of the relations of the countries in that area.

Some would argue that its the oil we are either after or protecting, but I don't think that is true. The ME would have to sell the oil to Europe and the US anyway....it does them no good in the ground.

No...I think it's time for the men of the ME to sort out their problems on their own, and let's get the US out of the area.

These attacks on our military are our chickens of ignorance coming home to roost. I fear it will get worse before it gets better.

War is very profitable, our weapons manufacturers, and those of the other major countries make billions from these wars. All the bombs that we drop must be replaced, new drones built, more ammo. It is big business.

And then there's that.
