Jesus identified "True God"

2 Chron 15:3 Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God,

Jer 10:10 But Jehovah is the true God, he is the living God...

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God...

Whose was the grammar, syntax, language, word-forms, and message of the scripture? Was it God's message in men's words? Or was it God's words in the mouths of men?

God told Isaiah:
Isa 51:16 And I have put my logos (words) in thy mouth......

And Jeremiah:
Jer 1:9 ....And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my logos (words) in thy mouth.

The prophets did not warn in their own words:
Eze 3:16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the logos of the LORD came unto me, saying, 17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the logos (word) at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

False doctrine comes from the hearts of men:
Jer 23:16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the logos (words) of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.

Or is dreamed up by them:
Jer 23:25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

God promised to direct the prophets even to the choice of words:
Isa 59:21 As for me, this is my covenant with them saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my rhema (words) which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

A special prophet was to be raised:
Deu 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren like unto thee, and will put my rhema (words) in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

Luke identifies this prophet as Jesus Christ:
Act 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all
things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

As also does the Hebrew letter:
Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets :2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son..........

Jesus did not preach his own doctrine:
John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

But acknowledges the commandment of Deut 18 as from the Father:
John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

Jesus passed the message to the disciples:
John 17:8 For I have given unto them the rhema (words) which thou gavest me...

The disciples received that message from the Father:
John 17:8 ....and they have received them....

Israel had knowledge of the "True God"
2 Chron 15:3 Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true Eloheem...
Jer 10:10 But Jehovah is the true Eloheem, he is the living Eloheem...

Jesus' message declared the Father to be the "Only True God."
John 17:3 ...that they might know thee the only true God....

If Jesus was "True God," and identifies anyone as "True God, he must identify himself - he cannot deny his "True-Godness"
2 Tim 2:13 "... he cannot deny himself."

Yet, he identifies "True God" as someone other than self:
John 17:3 ...that they might know "thee" the only true God,

Jesus instructs his disciples to know two entities:
1. "Thee" = "Only True God - AND 2. Jesus Christ = whom thou hast sent.

Paul understands this to mean:
1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father......... and one Lord Jesus Christ.......

Jesus not only never claimed to be "true God," or even "God;" but stated the simple truth "I am the son of God;" the significance of which was lost on the Jews who refused to believe God's message or accept his messenger.

When Jesus said God was his Father, the Jews sought to kill him for "making himself equal with God."
John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

Even though the jews later made the same statement, acknowledging the same relationship, yet considered themselves not guilty of the same offense:
John 8:41... Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

Later, when Jesus said that he was "one with the Father," they again accused him of saying something he had not said:

what Jesus said: John 10:30 "I and my Father are one."

What the Jews heard: "I and my Father are one"

What the Jews misunderstood it to mean: thou, being a man, "makest thyself God." 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

Jesus explains it to mean: John 10:36 I said, "I am the Son of God"

The fact that the Jews accused Jesus of claiming equality with God doesn't make it true. They also accused him of breaking the sabbath, which he did not do. Jesus reasons with them thusly:

John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

The Jews changed their testimony at his trial:
John 19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

But the Jews were ready to misunderstand him anyway:
John 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. 38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Jesus had already pointed out to them the futility of their position:
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust :46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my rhema (words)?

Jesus says that if you don't understand the concept, you won't understand the words which explain it:
John 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my logos (word - concept). 47 He that is of God heareth God's rhema (words): ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

God warned through Isaiah the prophet:
Isa 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Jesus quotes Isaiah:
Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

How important is it for us to know the things covered in this book?
Everlasting life is the cost for our ignorance/stubborness.

God loved us so much, he sacrificed his only son to give us everlasting life:
[John. 3:16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Whoever does not believe the words of Jesus, the wrath of God awaits him:
Deu 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren like unto thee, and will put my rhema (words) in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

Jesus put it this way: John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Eternal life is the goal of scripture searchers:
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

And the words of Jesus mean eternal life to the hearers:
John 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the rhema (words) of eternal life.

But eternal life is a gift from God:
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

And this gift is promised:
1Jo 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

If we are "in Christ", then we are in the Father, who is "True God;"
1 Jo 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

How important is it for us to know the Father as the "Only True God?"
2 Chron 15:3 Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God...

Jer 10:10 But Jehovah is the true God, he is the living God...

Gentiles became Christians to serve the "True God"
1 Thes 1:9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Jesus himself expounds on discerning this theme:
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
