Consider the fact that Republicans have no chance to ever win the white house, starting a new party is the best idea. Just think, they can get rid of the old wacko's that killed the party. Karl Rove, Gingrich, Trump, Palin. and the Bush family.
No more stupid invasion of Iraq, to defend.
It would be like a breath of fresh air.

I really don't believe starting a new party is the way to go. What we need to do is stop supporting RINOs. Only support those who truely stand for conservative beliefs. Oh it sounds great on paper, but so does Marxism.

Blockedlanes I agree regarding the ridding of Rove. But we must also rid ourselves of the balance of the Establishment Rino's. They have helped destroy what once was the 'Grand Old Party'. It has now devolved into becoming a family member of the Progressive's, once known as the Democrat Party. When we are successful in eliminating these 'party whores' and replacing them with Conservatives we will finally be able to move forward, rather than retrograding, the Country back to a Constitutional Republic, as our Founding Fathers envisioned, fought and died for.

Problem is there are not enough of you self proclaimed "true conservatives" (also known as right-wing extremists) to become a viable national party. Nor are there enough of what you guys call RINOs to survive unless you extremists subject yourself to their pandering. Then there are theLlibertarians that cant stand the social conservative ideologues of both groups that want to force their religious views into government. The truth is sooner or later you extremists will once again lose whatever political power you have gained in the past 20 years (the GOP establishment will disown you) and then the moderate Independent voters will come back to the GOP and make it a viable party once again.

The 'true Conservative' movement is growing exponentially. It is true it will take awhile to overcome the Rinocrats now in control of the Republican Party. But once they are weeded out and the Dems are rendered impotent we can return to a Constitutional Republic as we were founded and intended. We still have 3 1/2 more years to suffer under the Socialist/Marxist how reigning over the Country. But, God willing, he will be ousted on 20 Jan 2013. Our greatest fear, and obstacle to overcome,is Obama's successor waiting in the wings. Billiary is a reincarnation of Obama. The only difference between the two is that she sometimes wears a dress or pants suit.

We have no desire to force anyone to accept any religious ideology, we only want the opportunity to indulge in our religion, whatever that may be, Christian, Jewish or anyother one may desire or believe in. We do not want Islam, along with Shariah law, jammed down our throats. The Government seems determined to 'do away with' the Christian religious faith in the Military as well as the rest of the Nation. We are longer allowed 'Christmas Trees' they are now 'Holiday Trees', just one example of which there are many others. So you may wallow in your 'Progressive' BS, and mock us, while you can, for there will be a day of reckoning.

The Republican party is shrinking, not growing and what is left of it is divided between the establishment and the Tea Party insurgents. I guess you are ignoring national demographics and that fact that many conservatives are abandoning the GOP to become Independents or Libertarians. Regardless of your BS rhetoric Democrats are not Socialist/Marxists; they are Liberal Americans that believe in the ideas of liberty and justice for all, just as the liberal founders intended. You are more than free to indulge in your religion: I see churches and religious symbolism where ever I go and my job takes me all over the country. What you don't have freedom to do, like any other religion, is to blend your religious dogma into the function of government, no matter what your religion might be. The founding fathers where very specific in the need and purpose of separation of church and state. I put up a Christmas tree every season, gather with my family at Christmas time and have no problem sending out Christmas greeting to all whom cross my path . Most Liberals are Christians; they simple are not fanatic and self righteous in the expression of their faith. I mock no one, you make a mockery out of yourself with your constant spouting of rhetoric, propaganda and untruths. The day of reckoning is waiting for you.

The Constitution says nothing at all about separation of Church and State. Where did you come up with that?

What it does state is:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I did not say the phrase is included in the constitution; however, Jefferson made it more than clear what the constitution meant by "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" in a letter written in 1802 to the Danbury Baptist Association where he wrote:

"I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."

Jefferson's language of a wall of separation has been cited repeatedly by the U.S. Supreme Court
