I totally agree. The propaganda starts with television and what used to be cartoons to teach kids not to be selfish, to share, and the bad guy always got their just reward. Consider movies, advertisement, and laws. They are for the most part biased against whites and this has now become acceptable. Yes, I live on a fixed income and am tired of supporting lazy, ignorant (by choice) people who thinks the world owes them a living! I too am pissed off!!

In the above sentence, you claim it is the policies of these white liberals that have been killing Blacks for decades, which makes you one of those teachers in this comment: "...have been taught that the white man is the “devil” and is responsible for their sorry affairs and abject living conditions."
The problems of welfare are numerous and great. But the abuses you speak of, though intolerable, are not the rule for the vast majority of people in the proogram. Also, if you could have seen the abject poverty present in the South that I witnessed first hand in the '60s while I was in the service, the need for something to be done by the government was the only course of mercy.

I am having a very bad day and I log on to see yet another posting from you about how bad it is in the South, how horrible white people are.......

Well first off, the white people today are not responsible for what went on 186 years ago or for that matter what happened in the 60s. Further, if you wish to point the finger, which most of you like to do, point it at those responsible. If your parents were living in poverty, then why did they reproduce? If they had no plans for the future, then they had no business having children! If they did not plan or leave a legacy for their offspring, that is your family's business and their problem! Second person to look at is one's self. Did you, or those poor people go to school and graduate at the top of their class? No, then who is to blame? Once again, the parents for passing on their "stupid" gene and then you for not paying attention and graduating.

My husband and I were in the service and we had two children. My pay was about $350 and my husband's was just a little more. My husband took a part-time job flipping hamburgers and I took a second job sitting with people who were dying. It was a job where I could take my sons with me while I worked the night shift. We never asked or expected a hand out or up from anyone, we did what we had to do because we were responsible for the welfare of our children we chose to bring into this world.

Now I am retired and I have my nest egg. I buy a new car every two years, I do not have a mortgage and I go out and indulge in lobster, I go to concerts and buy my grandchildren gifts and not just for holidays, but just because they are my grandchildren. I worked hard for my money and sorry if you or those poor foolish people think that I owe you or them anything because my conscience is clear.

Get off your behinds, find a job and if that does not pay enough then get a second job. Stop reproducing, you have overpopulated the south and have only yourselves to blame. And yes, welfare is corrupt and abused frequently! There is no mercy in raising the next generation to live from hand to mouth and then stick that hand in everyone's pocket who works!

Do you think they had all the opportunities that you boast of? I drove a Black soldier back to his home outside Atlanta, in the foothills. There was a literal collection of tarpaper shacks with no indoor plumbing or other utilities. Where we dropped him off was a white-owned store that had separate entrances and water fountains for Blacks and Whites.

I never said White people are terrible; I am white, my family is white, so why would I say such a thing. No group of people can be generalized in such a way: to do so is bigotry. That you seem to assume I am Black by all the "yous" apparently aimed at me and my ilk--as in "Stop reproducing, you have overpopulated the south and have only yourselves to blame"--is something to look at.

Now of days poor Conservatives do not vote Democrat, they all became Republican after the Civil Rights Act was passed once the GOP started its "southern strategy" What you don't realize is that I'm white and from the South (all of my life) so I'm an eyewitness. What I'm saying is very valid indeed.

Where have these "myths" been debunked? I read the papers most days, and there are stories all across the country backing up these "myths". A whole culture has been born-from one of family unity- to one of dependence. The children of these "myths" are not being parented. They end up violent, disrespectful and uneducated. Not all, but many end up in prison or dead. Your denials don't help. These children can't be saved if the problem isn't faced. It's not racism to want a peaceful world for everyone.

You are right, I was venting and should have double checked the thread and to whom I was replying, my comments were intended for another person and a different thread. It was not you that angered me. As I said, I was in a titter.

I was a teenager in the 60s and there were many areas that were hard pressed. I can still recall the tarpaper shacks of West Virginia, Virginia, and Kentucky. It was not just the black people who were living without electricity and indoor plumbing. What I also recall is how those people held their heads up and when you were at their house and it was suppertime, they automatically set a place for their guest. Our family was better off, so we shared what we had. No one came to our door, be they black or white, that we treated badly. My mother would have skinned me if I had used a disrespectful term to anyone. There was no separate restrooms for blacks in our town, no segregation in eateries, and we all went to school together. I was not taught to hate anyone and especially for the color of their skin. My father was a Rabbi, he had no patience for lazy people, either of mind or spirit.

Again, it was not you it was indeed someone else that got my dander up!
