I buried this little quiz deep within another thread. Since you liberals appear to either have gone to sleep or hope to leave your inability to answer a simple arithmetic question unanswered, I have resurrected it here, just for you.

Don't disappoint:

If you are only have as smart as you think you are then you should be capable of solving this conundrum, presented as a logical postulation. Perhaps both a "logical axiom" and "non-logical axiom"

Ready?

Three salesman arrived in town, their assignment was to sell a product usable by many business owners.

The first thing they did was check into the local downtown hotel and rented (and paid for) a one night stay, sharing one room. The overnight rate was $30.00. Thus, they paid $10.00 each.

After a productive days work they returned to the hotel for the evening meal and a good nights sleep.

Upon picking up their room key and a bit of friendly conversation, the salesmen headed up to their room. The night desk clerk; being curious, checked their paperwork and discovered the day clerk had over charged them by $5.00. They should have been charged $25.00 not $30.00 because the company they worked for qualified for a corporate discount.

Knowing the salesmen would turn in their vouchers for reimbursement from their company, and wanting to maintain positive relations, the night clerk called over the bell hop and, gave him 5- $1.00 bills, and told him go up to their room, and to refund the three salesmen their $5.00.

Yes! The bell hop, being a uneducated Democrat could not figure out how to divide five dollars among the three salesman, and being liberal decided to give each of the three salesmen $1.00 each and stuck the other $2.00 in his pocket.

Can you see the conundrum?

OK... Let me put it another way:

Each salesman has now paid $9.00 each ($10.00 - $1.00)
The liberal bell hop has $2.00 in his pocket.

So 3x$9.00 = $27.00 + $2.00 in bell clerk pocket = $29.00

Wait a minute here. What happened to the $1.00 shortage.

Notation: The above required a lot of double talk, lack of logic and a over abundance of BS. So. Liberals should have an immediate answer, unless they are really as dumb as conservatives think they are.

OK
here we go they originally paid $10.00 each so 3 X $10.00 =$30.00
The bell hop only returned $3.00 and kept the other $2.00
so the salesmen each paid $9.00 each $9.00 X 3 = $27.00 plus the $3.00 that they received back equals $30.00 the $2.00 dollars that the bell hop kept does not enter into the equation.
Or to phrase it differently 3 X $9.00 = $27.00 minus the $2.00 that the bell hop kept and you have $25.00

Hey blockhead you can't do simple math yet?
25 + 3 = 28 28 + 2 = 30 not 31 like you came up with.

In typical “conservative” fashion you assume the worst about anybody who does not accept your political dogma simply because they disagree with you. You also display the failure of logic that you accuse others of.

There are only 2 cents that the arithmetic cannot account for, not $2.

When the bellhop gave the refund to the salesmen he failed to properly divide the money. $5 divided among 3 people means each person would get an even $1.66, not $1, and 2 cents would be left over. If the bellhop had been given a five dollar bill he could have given it to the salesmen and left it up to them to get change, or the bellhop could have gotten change himself before he divided the money among the salesmen. And if the bellhop had gotten change for the five dollar bill, he could have gotten change for the $2 as well.

OK. Good. you are using logic to solve the math.

Now for those of you with a more advanced understanding of algebra, can I insert the idea of a dynamic array?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, OK>.. Check out my next mathematical challenge which I guarantee will keep you speeding down the road. Thus the title of this second quiz will be "As the crow flies"

There is no logical answer, you have to do the math and understand your geometry to get it.

Are you up to the challenge?

Not I. Mathematics was definitely not one of my better subjects. I can count to 20 because of my 20 appendages. After that I have a real challenge.
