"Moderate issues" sometimes do cause "controversy". Democrats have been "provoking people" for years, it's just a question of who is being provoked. Basically you're saying that Republicans should only be involved with "moderate" issues which constitutes the subject matter of RINOs, which is the main reason the Republicans appear "weak". Leave it to a Democrat to try to tell everybody what "issues" should be debated. There are important issues that are not "moderate" that need to be addressed. So-called "moderate Republicans" are usually "closet liberals".
