I concur. This is going to be a mess! Obama signed into law allowing anchor babies to stay which allows their parents to also remain in country. Now it seems that he wants to give another 11 million illegals amnesty. If you examine this, you must ask some important questions. Example, who are these people. I mean really who are they. Are they just the salt of the earth people who just need an opportunity, or are they thieves, murders, rapists, or arsonist? Without background checks, how could we know? If you do some research, you will find that all background investigations have been suspended for aliens.

If he signs this measure, allowing an additional 11 million, behind the backs of Congress is he breaking the law? Remember that he signed the anchor babies into law without approval.

Makes one wonder about his agenda. Does he intend to have the Constitution amended so he can remain president? If that is part of his agenda, he will have an automatic 11 million additional supporters.

Hello ginnyt, I just want to make a point about the amount you stated here "11million"... I have read a few articles that say this number is VERY conservative, and the actual number is closer to 30 million. Some articles put the number between 25-50 million the higher end being closer to reality.

Just my two cents

I have heard the same thing. I guess when you take the 11 million that is the "official Obama" number and add the in laws and their families while including aunts and uncles of the children already given a type of amnesty, then the number will be significantly larger than what is being stated by Obama and his teams. I would not be surprised if 30 million turns out to be a very concretive estimate.

Thanks for pointing that out. It is important that people understand the huge influx of people into an already straining economy.

So true. I'm going to attempt later today to introduce a topic for discussion, concerning aunts and uncles, it would/should be amusing if it were not so true.

Til later.....

Hi Ginny - just to clear up a point you made that is factually incorrect. Obama did not sign a law authorizing anchor babies. The term anchor baby is used for those kids born in the USA from a mother who is not a citizen. By our constitution, as amended, being natural born in the US makes the child a citizen. This issue surrounding that is one of should the parents be forced to leave despite the anchor baby, and the practice has been to not enforce the law on the parents. What he did do is sign an executive order that illegal immigrants that were brought into this country as children will not be subjected to the existing laws that call for deportation. By doing so, he via that method, instituted a major tenent of the "Dream Act" that Congress had rejected - in other words Obama again held himself above the laws as written by Congress.

As to who these people are, whether the number 11 or 30 million, it is clear that almost every one is unskilled and uneducated. As such, they suppress the low end wage scales because our modern public welfare and education system are generated a surplus of natural born folks with no skills and limited education. All the cries you hear for rasing the minimum wage would go away if these millions also went away - market forces would generate higher pay scales for even the most minimally skilled workers. Make welfare benefits, including food stamps, less available and you'd drive a lot of folks into the workforce, but even then the wages would be well above minimum.

Meanwhile, those without marketable skills that either cannot find work sufficient to rise above our (generous) poverty levels, or no work at all, are subsidized by the many welfare programs like EITC, food stamps, section 8, medicaid, school lunch, et al.

With the legalization of this additional millions, you will see all of those programs explode with the new eligibles.

you also made one statement that is factually not true, the babies born of those here illegally are considered citizens but not natural born

Alex,
You are correct. The children I was referring to are those who were brought here at a very young age with their illegal parents. Thank you!!!! I do need to write my input in word so I can do a better job of proof reading before I post. Lesson learned. Thanks again

Dave,
Thank you! I need to be better at fact checking before I post, and it would not hurt to use a word processing so I can better proofread for clumsy errors such as this.

Your second point, I wholeheartedly agree. The states that are our bread baskets will certainly grow with more migrant workers. And our boarder states will be overrun. I too am concerned about the existing American poor.

There is a lot of reform we need in our government. And illegal immigration is the highest priority right now because these crooks are causing more drain on our economic system than anything else. But we also need reform on the way we choose our elected leaders. We HAVE to stop choosing by political party and start doing a little minor investigating into the eligibility of our candidate of choice. By this I mean that if we would simply sacrifice a little time off from other endeavors to make a list of a candidate's past performance and vote according to their honesty and ability, then I believe we could straighten the mess we have made into a government that we could once again depend on. And by this I don't mean depending on the mainstream media to do your thinking for you because any person should realize that the mainstream media is nothing more than a mouth for the crooks that should not be in politics in the first place. But on the web you can find history of every candidate and what they have been involved in in their past, and if they have anything but an honest past, then we do not need them as our leaders. It is that simple.

as I have said a couple of times here ,the reason we have the govt. we have is because people vote for the person that tells them the best sounding lie, that's why we have political parties, so if your candidate lies to you ,you can vote him out the next time
