Usual "uber-left wing" complaint blaming Republican members of Congress for the job situation in America. Although all the members of Congress should be ashamed of the job they are (not) doing, Republican and Democrat, advocating a raise in the minimum wage to $16.54 per hour and raising taxes again is just as shameful as what Buchheit rails against.
As a "college teacher", an active member of US Uncut Chicago, founder and developer of "social justice and educational websites", it comes as no surprise that his "views" would pile all "shame and mistakes" upon Republicans. He sounds exactly like the "propaganda-spewing educators" many think have "indoctrinated" young students in this country.
The article is a fine example of the type of "education" that students get nowadays.

Did he lie about anything and you can prove that? Did you look at the congressional record, both of the house and senate, to see how Republicans have behaved? I'm so sick of hearing how so many people need food stamps because they can't afford to feed themselves. Almost anyone in America is but 30 minutes from a casino. Almost every casino has large crowds. Almost every casino is highly profitable.

1. They've stifled the growth of millions of young adults
True. Democrats have done the stifling with frequent increases in minimum wage laws (read: control), and massive over-regulating of businesses they know virtually nothing about. Jobs have gone overseas because the liberals in this country are so ungodly stupid when it comes to common sense.
If a company wants to make a profit, progs call it "selfish", because primarily they want to see that profit in liberals' pockets, NOT in the producers' pockets. Unions are a huge part of jobs leaving America, and for that reason I despise unions, selfish creatures FAR beyond the selfishness of the businessman.

2. They've mocked the concept of a "living wage"
Well, the political left has mocked the meaning of minimum wage and converted that phrase to mean "living wage". The political left's unions have all but destroyed employment in the USA because they cannot bring themselves to drop the control they are so proud of and which makes them despicable. Most people will never excel unless there is incentive to. The left's policies all seem designed to keep everyone at his lowest potential - and they have the gall to be proud of that. Unbelievable idiots.

3. They've allowed nearly half of America to go into debt
No, they've, predominantly the political left, CAUSED half of America to be in debt. Were it not for the federal government and its partnership with thuggish unions, Americans would have virtually no problems.

4. They've persisted with the trickle-down "job creator" myth
The writer finally found a real enemy - the US government, mostly the political left which thinks and behaves as though the US government is GOD, not a self-serving enemy of the American people and as incompetent as the dumbest human can get.

5. They've aligned against the one area that would ensure jobs and a safer future
I am not opposed to environmentally clean sources of energy, but I am opposed to "scholars and politicians" being the lead in this as they never think anything through to its final conclusion. They merely muck around with it, costing the taxpayers virtual fortunes that could more readily and compassionately be spent on food, health care, etc. I offer Obamacare as an example. I also offer the government's method of integration as an example - it created FAR more angst than anything else it could have possibly done. Scholars and politicians and unions (all of the socialist left) will be the death of our nation, probably during my lifetime, and I resent the hell out of them.

What "jobs bill" would you call a good, solid means of helping the nation and that would not cost the taxpayer billions of dollars?

There is no such thing as a jobs bill it is a union pay back bill, or a contributor pay back bill in the case of green energy. Oillegal has no incentive to actually get the economy growing again because then the masses wouldn't need the government to help them out and be their god.

Excellent piece. I saw on the media a day or two ago that a committee of cronies will decide if one gets chemo after age 77, or if a hip/knee replacement will be approved. This is in Obama Care. Seniors, overwhelmingly, voted for Obama in the last election. Sara Palin reported on the death squad but to seniors didn't believe. Nor did the children of the seniors. Those children who voted for Obama sentenced their parents to death, or a painful existence should they need critical care after age 77. Every Democrat should be impeached by the people for passing a law that they didn't read, total malfeasance.

I left out an important reference. Medicare----Most people don't know that Obamacare curtails Medicare. The above article refers to Medicare. Obama took $675 billion out of Medicare and put it into Obamacare. I guess he considered it a surplus and Medicare wouldn't need it because his death squad would kill off the seniors. A republic cannot survive if the gov conceals, lies and tricks it's people.

How true. I guess the kids will the house all to themselves now, I just hope that they learn how to feed themselves and cook. After were gone they won't have us for babysitters either, I guess we are just obsolete.

I feel so helpless and alone in my California Liberal Democratic Welfare state. A fish outa water! Kids can say: today I am a girl and use the girls restroom. Tomorrow it can say: today, I am a boy. I am going to use the boys' room. The big thinkers in Sacramento, a super Democratic majority in the assembly, believe this new law will stop bulling of transgenders. I think there is a backlash. I can imagine a boy coming out of a girls room and the impact that visual will have on other males. And the vision isn't pretty.
