I always found those that would proclaim, "I know my heart and I would NEVER... (fill in the blank for yourselves), then lo and behold, "never say never" seems to be a much better fit.
How does that happen I wonder? We believers are told,
"The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? "I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.
~Jeremiah 17:9-10
If we don't know our own heart, how can we even come close to knowing another's? We can't really but, there are indicators we can look for in ourselves as well as others.
5 Indicators Of An Evil And Wicked Heart
"...we often have a hard time discerning between an evil heart and an ordinary sinner who messes up, who isnt perfect, and full of weakness and sin."
"I think one of the reasons we dont see evil is because we find it so difficult to believe that evil individuals actually exist. We cant imagine someone deceiving us with no conscience, hurting others with no remorse, spinning outrageous fabrications to ruin someones reputation, or pretending he or she is spiritually committed yet has no fear of God before his or her eyes."
1. Evil hearts are experts at creating confusion and contention.
They twist the facts, mislead, lie, avoid taking responsibility, deny reality, make up stories, and withhold information.
***How very political, am I right?
2. Evil hearts are experts at fooling others with their smooth speech and flattering words.
But if you look at the fruit of their lives or the follow through of their words, you will find no real evidence of godly growth or change. Its all smoke and mirrors.
3. Evil hearts crave and demand control, and their highest authority is their own self-reference.
They reject feedback, real accountability, and make up their own rules to live by. They use Scripture to their own advantage but ignore and reject passages that might require self-correction and repentance.
4. Evil hearts play on the sympathies of good-willed people, often trumping the grace card.
They demand mercy but give none themselves. They demand warmth, forgiveness, and intimacy from those they have harmed with no empathy for the pain they have caused and no real intention of making amends or working hard to rebuild broken trust.
5. Evil hearts have no conscience, no remorse.
They do not struggle against sin or evilthey delight in itall the while masquerading as someone of noble character.
If you are working with someone who exhibits these characteristics, its important that you confront them head on. You must name evil for what it is. The longer you try to reason with them or show mercy towards them, the more you will become a pawn in his or her game.
Anybody you know? Maybe yourself?

It sounds a lot like the entire concept behind the Marxist socialist left wing dictatorship which has over a number of years slowly taken over the USA school system and a large number of politicians. Obama is just the most recent, not the first, and, unfortunately, not the last.

There are many on BOTH sides of the aisle that could easily fit into to this thread topic.
And we keep electing these people.......why?
Because the two party system doesn't give us much of a choice.
"Constantly choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil." - Jerry Garcia, old school liberal who preached "always question authority" and "never trust Big Brother".

I concur.....although this topic should have the individual doing some possibly needed soul searching, the 5 points you make reeks of the dreaded politician.

It certainly does~~the reinforcer to all evil committed starts with the want of greed and by-passing the emotions the heart brings as a measurement of our right and wrong..
It leads to the further demise of Society itself when we work with ill will and evil as the motivator and turn off the receptors of right and wrong the heart leads us to follow, along with the analytical determination......The analyst balances or justifies and the heart motives the path we choose to follow based on "that feeling"..Some would say 6th sense feeling...I say the Heart...
I also see Rocks post directly defining we, as people, in our actions of the Hearts emotion..Love, compassion, goodness towards others and how the Heart motives our own personal actions, deeds, and or intent when inter-acting with others..
A truly good heart brings positive inducement of all things that are then done with goodness of the Heart as the motivator..A truly negative heart or heart of deceptiveness brings the very same into the realm of life and living period...
Love yourself first and you will love all others with a clear understanding of human compassion and goodness.. It defines our character, instill our personal balance of self worth and how we want to "Do Unto Others as would be done to us..."
Jealousy, a terrible emotion stems from lack of self confidence and in it motivates negative thoughts to make others as "miserable" so they can feel better.....
Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye....Thank God it does...It protects us in this ability..We naturally want to see the good and not the negative..We give our Heart and love to that person or them only to find out later they were not worthy of it...Were they hurt? No, but we were in that act...Over time we harden in our ability to "love and let go"..Who is then hurt???
You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.

I have to agree there my friend. We are to judge ourselves and, we won't be judged.
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned.
~Luke 6:37
My belief is that 'We the People' allow corruption in our elected officials to the same extent we tolerate it in our own selves. Our government is bad, because we aren't anything to write home about.
Amen?
The problem as I see it, is much like fast women... why does judging and condemning others have to be so much fun? Like who would do any of that nonsense if it were like eating vegetables, right?

God I hope so. It is hard trying to make things work with a small budget. I find myself in a position of not being able to serve everyone immediately and to their liking but doing my best for all. Our board meetings are something else at times. So far no shots fired and we are making progress though slow.
