ISIS captures Syrian Towns near border with Turkey

AMMAN/BEIRUT - Islamic State fighters advanced against rival insurgents in northern Syria on Sunday, capturing areas close to a border crossing with Turkey and threatening their supply route to Aleppo city, fighters and a group monitoring the war said.

Islamic State captured the town of Soran Azaz and two nearby villages after clashes with fighters from a northern rebel alliance, which was formed last December and includes both Western-backed fighters and Islamist militants.

This meant Islamic State will be able to move along a road leading north to the Bab al-Salam border crossing between the Syrian province of Aleppo and the Turkish province of Kilis, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The town's loss is a blow to rebels grouped in the so-called Jabhat al-Shamiyya alliance (Levant Front), because the area sits on an important supply route to bring weapons into eastern Aleppo, two fighters said.

Since last spring, 2014, I've been looking at the territory ISIS is conquering, and noticed months ago it resembles the ancient Assyrian Empire.

The list of countries involved are almost identical to those which God is implored by the Psalmist to destroy in the 83rd Psalm.

Edom = Southern Jordan
Ishmaelites = Northern Saudi Arabia
Moab = Central Jordan
Hagarenes = Egyptians
Gebal = Northern Lebanon
Ammon = Northern Jordan
Amalek = Sinai
Philistia = Gaza Strip
Tyre = Southern Lebanon
Assyria = Syria and North Iraq

Another interesting aspect of this is that the territory God promised to Abraham encompasses much of this same territory on which ISIS is currently sitting.

Genesis 15:18 declares to Abraham, “To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates.” God later confirms this promise to Abraham’s son Isaac and Isaac’s son Jacob (whose name was later changed to Israel). When the Israelites were about to invade the Promised Land, God reiterated the land promise, as recorded in Joshua 1:4, “Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Great Sea on the west.”

Personally, I believe that ISIS will continue to advance to Israel's border in an attempt to capture the entire Levant (their true objective),
at which time, God, by means of the Kurds, who are the descendants of the ancient Medes, conquerers of Assyria in 600 A.D., will destroy ISIS, and Israel will enlarge its' territory.

Has anyone knowledgable about bible prophecy formed an opinion on this?

If your going to talk about end times, I'd listen to this guy first.

He's an Arab Muslim that converted to Christianity that was born in Bethlehem and grew up in the Middle East.

He tells you what the bible says, he's not interpreting what it says and he grew up in the area where the old kingdoms were.

All Christians know of Jesus' instruction, to "watch," to observe, and to be aware of the "signs of the (end) times."

Matthew 24:42-44 "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh."

Luke 21:36 - "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."

2 Timothy 3:1-4 " This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

"Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;"

2 Peter 3:2-10 "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.

"For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

That is the reason to care.

Thanks, Homestead

I do receive Walid Shoebat's daily newsletter by email, and have for several years.

I don't always agree with him on everything regarding future prophecy, but no one ever really agrees with anyone else 100% of the time when watching current events and contrasting them with what has been written about our time.

I was hoping someone who has figured it all out would speak up. :)

What I like about Shoebat is that he sticks pretty close to what's written and doesn't try to interpret and inject anymore than he has to.
Coming from the middle east he has some old world knowledge that adds something back into the readings that modern times has lost.

But, in the end, no one is going to know when it is.
I don't think they're supposed to.
The idea is to prepare, to be ready.
I think that is the point of telling people what's coming, but, not when.

Turkey is an interesting country. I did a lot of work there back in the day. As far as muslim countries they used to be pretty secular but moved a bit away from that when Edrogan got in.

There used to be this movement there called the PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party). Maybe there still is. They killed a lot people in Turkey (30,000? shot people and blew stuff up). Apparently the Kurds want their own country. They are based across the border in Iraq.

They found 2 kilos of plastic explosive they had planted about 2 blocks from my hotel one of the times was I there. Needless to say when I ate at the outside restaurants I didn't sit near the car with the "Free the Kurdistan 7" bumper sticker. :)

Anyway they (Kurds and PKK) are some of the people we armed up to fight ISIS. This makes Turkey really nervous. Politics makes strange bedfellows huh?

As far as Muslims go the Turks don't get a lot of respect from the hard core Muslim countrys. One fellow told me...They don't think we are very good muslims.

Thats because they drink (the national drink is Reiki, an awful licorice tasting liquor) and being Turks they love to drink it.

Sorry to ramble, just thought I'd give some background and experience from Turkey.

Turkey has a lot of biblical history too. I was able to visit Ephesos (the book of Ephesians was written about that place and the people there). Here are some pictures of it.

It used to be on the coast now its about 5 miles away from the sea. Kinda throws some water on global warming and rising seas I guess. :) Attached is a photo of the main drag in the biblical city and another of the coliseum.

What they called 'The worlds oldest Ad" is interesting. It was a flagstone at the pier where the seas in the port of Ephesos used to be. It has carvings of a broken heart, a lady with a fancy hairdoo and a footprint. They think it was ad for a brothel..."if your heart is broken this lady will fix you up. Walk this way"

What's sad is that Islam really screwed up that whole section of the world.
People don't realize that their aren't three great religion anymore, there are either four or one, thanks to Islam.

Muhammad created the fourth (false) religion. His religion truncated the Muslim religion prior to him and severed it from it's roots. A lot of the killings of Muslim on Muslim is Islam trying to kill off the old traditions and thought that still exists, prior to Islam.

That would make four religions, but, Islam has declared there is only one religion, so if you acknowledge Islam, you acknowledge there's only one religion.

If you don't acknowledge Islam then there's four except that Islam pretty much wipe out the Muslim religion prior to Islam so that only makes three, but Islam is not the religion that goes back to Abraham.

And around we go.

Because of human nature, if we knew the exact date, we might well live carelessly, then everyone who believes would spend the preceding weekend on their knees in their prayer closet (which we should do anyway) confessing even the smallest sin.

Jesus said His sheep know His voice, (John 10:27: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me"), and looking at the results of a Psalm 83 internet search indicates a great many of Jesus' people seem to be hearing that Psalm 83 is about to be fulfilled: About 2,650,000 results (0.44 seconds).

This would set the stage for the much anticipated war of Ezekiel 38 and 39.

Psalm 83 is a prayer for God to judge the enemies of Israel; 1) Edom - Southern Jordan, 2) the Ishmaelites - North Central Saudi Arabia, 3) Moab - Central Jordan, 4) Hagarites -Egyptians, 5) Gebal - Northern Lebanon, 6) Ammon - Northern Jordan, 7) Amalek - Arabs south of Israel, 8) Philistines - Palestinians of Gaza, 9) Tyre - Southern Lebanon and 10) Assyria - Southern Syria & Northern Iraq.

This would include the terrorists of Hamas and Hezbollah.

In Psalm 83, the inhabitants of the nations named above, who have declared themselves to be Israel's enemies, are declared to also be God’s enemies for they have formed an alliance against Him by seeking to destroy His people and His land, Israel. (Psalm 83: 2, 5, 13). They are all Muslim citizens of Muslim lands and their belief in Islam’s intense anti-Jewish-anti-Christian message, learned from the Qur'an, has caused their hatred of Israel and Israel's God.

Psalm 83 is usually grouped with Jeremiah 49, and Isaiah 17.

Jeremiah 49 predicts the destruction of Ammon, Jordan. "Unfaithful Daughter Ammon, you trust in your riches and say, ‘Who will attack me?’
" I will bring terror on you from all those around you," declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.
"Every one of you will be driven away, and no one will gather the fugitives." (Jeremiah 49:4-5)

Isaiah 17 is a prophecy of the future destruction of Damascus, Syria, one of the oldest cities in the world, “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap." (Isaiah 17:1)

This fits in with the time of the final of the four "blood moons," for whenever there are four blood moons, historically, Israel has been engaged in battle by it's enemies within a year or two, and as a result the borders of Israel have been enlarged by conquering their enemy.

The destruction of these immediate neighbors bordering Israel would answer the question, "Why are none of these countries mentioned in the war foretold in Ezekiel 38 and 39.

This war tells of a confederation of nations, including Russia and Iran invading Israel. Other countries named are Libya, Turkey, and Sudan, which in Bible times was part of Ethiopia, but where were Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Saudia Arabia? - those countries closest to Israel.

Psalm 83 answers this. Those neighboring countries will already have been destroyed, and Israel will have enlarged it's borders, according to the land God had promised Abraham, for Ezekiel 38 says Russia, Iran (Persia) and the other nations will come against a land at peace, living without walls, in order to "take a spoil, which is not true today.

Israel, after taking the natural resources of it's border enemies, will be a wealthier nation.

This is a rough draft of events that could occur within the next year or two, if the Lord so wills.

The pictures are fascinating.

The Kurds are an ancient people, believed to be descended from the Medes of the Bible. At the time they occupied what is now northern Iran.

All the cities had amphitheater's, they were used by the ancient pagan "Mystery Religion's services, where they taught and entertained by acting out the histories of their mythical gods, sort of "living videos," or pre-films.

Corinth, a major port city in Greece, (Corinthians I and II in the New Testament) had such a reputation for licentiousness and debauchery, the term "to corinthianize" was a common metaphor for fornicating.

Because of human nature, if we knew the exact date... (show quote)

Well, we'll see.
If people do what they're supposed to do, in their daily lives, it won't matter when it comes, because they'll be prepared.

Yes, I know, but if it wasn't for all the people who are perishing for lack of knowledge, or understanding, or just plain stubbornness, it would be such a joy to see Israel's enemies defeated (through God's power).

These enemy nations who have persecuted the Jewish people throughout the centuries will be forced to acknowledge that the Lord, He is God.

I would like to live to physically see Israel triumph.

Trouble will come soon enough, there's plenty of fights to fight before that.
