When A Criminal Yanked A Woman From Her Mercedes, Little Did He Know What Was About To Happen
Carjack
An Orem, Utah man is dead after he tried to forcibly commandeer a womans Mercedes. The 26-year-old man was allegedly involved in a series of crimes prior to the attempted carjacking. He was shot by a heroic bystander with a concealed carry permit.
Western Journalism Reports:
According to recent KSTU reports, a man is dead after attempting to forcibly commandeer a womans Mercedes. The deceased 26-year-old had allegedly taken part in a series of criminal acts along with several accomplices, culminating with the fateful carjacking attempt.Authorities say reports of a fight Saturday morning at an Orem, Utah, apartment complex ended when the now-deceased suspect and four other individuals drove away in one vehicle.
A short time later, the group disbanded. The vehicle is seen on surveillance footage hitting a curb, at which point four occupants are shown fleeing on foot as the driver steals a truck parked nearby. He reportedly drove to a supermarket in the area, where he ditched the stolen truck and attempted to take an occupied vehicle.Suspect gets out of the truck, Orem Police Capt. Ned Jackson said, goes over and pulls the lady out of the silver Mercedes, starts to get in the car. Shes screaming for help.
From there, Jackson explained, the situation took a drastic turn for the worse for the suspect. An armed man reportedly witnessed the altercation and stepped in to protect the targeted motorist. Our citizen goes up at gun point, has him get out of the car, Jackson explained. The guy gets out of the car. The suspect lunged and tried to get the gun from him; so at that point, hes trying to protect himself and shoots the gentleman.
The gentlemen expired from a single gunshot wound after being taken to a local hospital. The 31-year-old shooter has not been charged, as his exercise of deadly force appears justified.
A representative of the Utah Shooting Sports Council, a group that advocates for gun rights in Utah, weight in on the legal status of the shooters actions:
If someone is trying to break into your vehicle, especially while you are in it, thats considered a forcible felony under Utah law and under that code section it says you can use any force necessary to stop the person who is in the commission of that forcible felony.

The sad part is that hundreds of similar cases of crimes being stopped with legally possessed and/or carried firearms happen every year, .... many cases, without a shot being fired, .... but hell will freeze over before the leftist media will ever report it

Once awareness as to what was happening set in I would not hesitate reacting exactly the same.
Hopefully the majority of people would as well if they were armed.

The BEST retort I've read...
You know Don, that the illogical left would read this, "Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars", and discern it's correctness using the age old method of comparing their two hands. The filling of one with wishes and the other with crap then suddenly dumping the crap filled one once reality suggest it does in fact fill up the fastest and that just does not fit in their universe.
