I know why you dislike him. He was at the original Tea Party. You know, the one they ran in Boston.

There was some speculation that one of the party, William Dawes, had been partying a little. Perhaps because he fell, or was thrown from his horse. At any rate, turdnest is, as usual, wrong. Revere was apprehended by a British patrol. I guess tdrsnest reads history about like all of those Bills he claims to have read.

Paul sure was a busy guy. When he wasn't out riding horses he ran a silversmith shop, was married twice, and had 16 children.

Paul Revere was intimately involved with the Boston Committee of Correspondence and the Massachusetts Committee of Safety. He spied on the British. Can't find anything that says he was a racist or hated women. But he was part of the White majority so maybe that is reason for tdrsnest's hostility toward him.

Two hundred and forty years ago today, Paul Revere made his ride. What most people don't realize is that three men made the ride; Revere, William Dawes, and Samuel Prescott.
The true story is that Revere only made a short part of the ride, and was intercepted and captured by a British patrol. Dawes and Prescott escaped. Dawes reportedly "fell off his horse," (a "horsewreck?" ), and Revere's ride was actually made by Dr. Samuel Prescott.

[quote=Loki]As usual, you are wrong. William Dawes is sometimes accused of that, as he is the one who had the "accident." Revere was stopped and detained be a British Patrol. Prescott is the one who actually did most of it.[/

Not a lot of folks know that Revere was a cabinet maker as well as a silversmith. A friend found him carving an intricate hunting scene in the bottom of a drawer in a chest of drawers he was making. "Why do all of that work inside the drawer, Paul, no one will know it's there." "I will know it's there." revere answered.

See what kind of an epic you can write using words that rhyme with "Prescott." I believe that is why he was immortalized in the poem. It has to be at least a reason.

Once upon a midnight most desperate, rode a great patriot named Pescott who...(fill in the rest, lol)
