On this day in 1860, the Pony Express was officially begun. Although it only lasted about 18 months, it made an indelible impression on American History. Both William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody, and James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickock were Pony Express riders. Hickock was unusually large for an Express rider; small men were preferred.

Possibly a little more important and relevant, Loki, just a few thousand years ago, today, [circa 33 A.D.] Jesus Christ was very brutally Crucified, and in the final stages of His Crucifixion [by the Pharisees and Sadducees], asked God to; "forgive them for they knew not what they do." Hummmmmm. "Buffalo Bill???" Good story though.

Interesting to note that, despite the fact that Easter is a moveable feast which would entail Good Friday falling on different dates throughout history, at least one calculation has Good Friday actually falling on April 3 as it does this year.

"A third method, using a completely different astronomical approach based on a lunar Crucifixion darkness and eclipse model (consistent with Apostle Peter's reference to a "moon of blood" in Acts 2:20), points to Friday, 3 April AD 33"

Possibly the wrong Friday.

Monday, April 18, A.D. 29
Friday, April 7, A.D. 30
Tuesday, March 27, A.D. 31
Monday, April 14, A.D. 32
Friday, April 3, A.D. 33
Wednesday, March 24, A.D. 34
Tuesday, April 12, A.D. 35
Saturday, March 31, A.D. 36

There were two days during the seven year period in which Christ's crucifixion would have occurred that are likely candidates. As you can see, it may have been on April 7th, AD 30. No offense, but there is no doubt about the Pony Express beginning. There is a lot of disagreement on whether the crucifixion occurred on April 3rd of one year, or the 7th of another year. Ditto for the resurrection.
