Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), a man born in Canada,(a foreign country), to an American mother and a Cuban (from that Communistic island south of Florida) father, has declared his candidacy as a Republican running for President. I wonder how long before the same "Birthers" who went after Obama's very similar circumstances of birth, will attack Cruz for his. I wonder how long it will be before the "Birthers" shout their denials of the authenticity of Cruz's birth certificate; claiming it to be a fake and a forgery. I wonder how far the hate-filled "Birthers's" rhetoric will go on and on about the "communistic influence" that Cruz's father "must have had" on the candidate's political leanings. Oh! Wait! Cruz is a GOPTPer! Of course he's good to run for president and anyone who thinks otherwise is a darn liar!

It'll be interesting to watch how the GIPTPers will come to Cruz's defense and try to crucify anyone who would even think that Cruz might not be an American citizen. It'll be interesting to see how the GOPTPers will walk the talk, now that the shoe is on the other foot.

I've been wondering the same thing alabuck.
But as I can see, the refusal-to-address-the-question-but-instead-whine-about-it comments have already begun.

I'll be interested to see if anyone posts a logical explanation as to why Cruz's birth nationality scenario differs from Obama's.

The Citizenship Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution indicates that "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States." The Supreme Court of the United States affirmed in United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898),

Born in Canada to an American mother, Ted Cruz became an instant U.S. citizen. But under Canadian law, he also became a citizen of that country the moment he was born.

I like Ted Cruz and think he would make a good President, However, I don't believe he's eligible under our Constitution. I believe he falls under the same category as Obuzzard bait when it comes to being a "natural born citizen".
