I haven't used IE in years. I've been using Firefox since '09.
Maybe but name change is more likely. It will be interesting to compare the code of IE 11 and whatever the new on is.

Hell I've never used IE. Mosaic, Netscape Navigator, Netscape Communicator and Firefox. The days of no pretty pictures, no adds and no hackers.

Firefox works for me. Tons of good free apps and add-ons. Most work very well and are simple to use.
Superior support that's easily navigated. Light and fast.

Even if you do not use IE itself, you still use it, because it is imbedded in the operating system itself. Take IE out of your computer and it will not run right...............
Go on MicroSoft's site and try doing a download without it and more then likely you will get dumped off your download before it is done, unless you use IE.

 OK Bill Jr.
Windows works just fine without IE. I have had 3.1, 95, 98SE, XP, 7 and 8.1, none have IE, all have been stripped. 3.1 and 95 didn't have it to begin with. Use the Control Panel to update, the first time it will tell you IE is corrupt just close it (don't reboot).
http://www.litepc.com/xppreview.html works in 95, 98, 98SE and up to XP, I got it to work in 7 but not 8.1 so I hand removed the files over a two week period. My desk top still runs the XP only not on the hard drive but from the CD player. The machine is never shut off because it takes about 7 minutes from a cold shut down.
