A Michigan woman is defending her behavior toward a transgender person that ultimately resulted in her losing her gym membership.

Just trying to make a point Rock, not trying to distort the facts.

Being uncomfortable and feeling unsafe are not the same thing. While I don't know any more about this particular case than anyone else, my guess is the transgendered woman was just something very different and unusual - the kind of thing that makes some people uncomfortable. Maybe the cisgendered female could have worked out a compromise schedule so she and the trans woman were not there at the same time.

It's when we start seeing each other as "ideas" rather than as individuals that I think we run into trouble. Taking the time to get to know one another sometimes means we find others aren't as dangerous as we think they are.

Look at you and me...different but (mostly) civil. I don't feel threatened by you, and I hope you realize you have no reason to be threatened by me.

The gym rules said that no degree of sex change had to have taken place if the person declared him self to be a woman than he had to be allowed in the woman's locker room, penis, testicles and all. That is a threat to any woman in the place. someone who has had the opposite sexual organs installed is only a threat from the standpoint that the rate of severe depression in transgender persons after the surgery is very high and severely depressed people are a threat to everyone, not because a real woman could be raped by the person. As it stands with their regulations any man can state that he believes himself to be a woman, and the gym will allow him to be in the woman's locker room. Paul and SWMBO have had discussions on this subject and Paul is not threatened by male to female sex change people, even if they are still totally male except for their attitude so he seems unable to understand why a woman wouldn't feel the same way. The redefining of the sexes to accept 1/3 of 1% and keep them comfortable at the expense of everyone else is just another bullying move in a long line of same. If it were in a heavily homosexual area then why not have a "indeterminate" shower and locker room? If not, perhaps a single person shower would be usable. I realize that for people like Paul who have publicly stated that nudity in public should be legal, and it is just western culture hangup that is in the way. So what, it is the culture, just as it is the culture in some places in the world for people to copulate in front of everyone else.

When Brad was told by producers to not mention the name of Jesus, well Brad went out into the Country Music Awards show (which would have been viewed by millions of people) and did exactly that, but in the coolest way possible. He sang the song “This is Country Music”.

For those of you that don’t know the song, the first verse itself is enough to make atheists angry. It was ridiculous. The critical reception it got when the song was released was so immature. But once again, Brad didn’t care at all. He got out and did his thing.
