Every Walmart location costs the local, state, and federal goverments about one million dollars combined every month, and that is above the offset of jobs. Why? Walmart pay practices, hiring mostly parttime employees, which denies any coverage. The Right Wing typical blind response: "Consider yourselves lucky to be deigned with work by these beneficent Job Creators." Their low pay puts them under welfare programs.

Romneyville was the headquaters of dissolving American jobs and companies out of pure vullture capitalism. As he ran for president, he was busy brokering a deal in China to place about 30,000 people into what effectively could be called, a "wage prison."

Recent revelations about Walmart are all over the news right now due to their refusal--again and again and again--to pay their workers minimum wage. No need for sites and proof; turn on the bloody TV.

According to Glassdoor and two other websites, Walmart does pay minimum wages, plus 10% discount to employees. It appears; however, a predominant number of employees are part-time not full-time. I have found the "bloody TV" consistently finds Walmart to be the, as I like to call it, "Darth Vader" of retail. Rest assured Target does the exact same thing. The only difference is they utilize a great many high school and college students as their part-time labor force. There are many retail establishments that pay less then minimum wage; however, supposedly your commission will make up the difference. Do you believe McDonalds, Burger King, Papa John's, Dominos are any better? In fact, Papa Johns is, rumor only, being accused of making delivery personnel pay for their own gas and, again, paying less then minimum wage. A delivery person will, supposedly, make it up in tips. Oh, yeah, I am sure those students at your alma mater, U of MD, pay big tips for pizza delivery. I will not even start on the recent accusations concerning Burger King franchises changing time sheets and not paying overtime.

Yep, it is all and only Walmart.

"Every Walmart location costs the local, state, and federal goverments about one million dollars combined every month", and this is bad exactly HOW?

It's Walmart's money, not the government's money. You are a true collectivist if you see that money as the government's.

"Walmart pay practices, hiring mostly parttime employees, which denies any coverage."

Are you saying that private businesses cannot run their companies how they wish to run them? To my knowledge everything they do is legal. Isn't it interesting that it is one of the biggest success stories in America?

If you don't want to work part time, then work somewhere else. Those of you who want to destroy Walmart will instead be destroying a LOT of the middle class and the poor if you succeed.

As to the clap-trap about Romney, put a sock in it or prove it.

Aside from your comment, I must say you so well paint the picture of what is hated about collectivists. You want to control everyone, every business, every meeting, every vote, every entertainment venue. Those are not YOURS to control, don't you get it?!?!?! Everything collectivists control becomes a massive failure, and I don't think I need to point out most government programs which are collectivist in nature and in origin, and have no business being tax supported. Collectivists are by nature devious, secretive, ignorant, lacking the gift of logic, selfish, self-centered, generous ONLY with OPM (other people's money), and a drag on society.

yes turn on the tv as long as it's one of the alphabet stations wal-mart was going to build stores in DC but the city govt. is insisting that they pay 12.50 min.so wal-mart said stick it, most workers are paid above min.

Only a useful idiot would believe a major corporation regularly violates minimum wage laws with impunity.

The statement in bold face invalidates your argument. Wal-Mart has to pay minimum wage to all employees or they are in violation of Federal Law and they would have many, many law suits placed upon them. We all know how much the Left likes to file lawsuits for alleged violations of the law.

This is an invalid statement as well. If you want to sway someone to your side, you must provide evidence that supports your allegations. You show me one, just one, Wal-Mart under indictment for not paying minimum wage and I will probably be swayed. Less than that and you gain no ground.

I suppose listening to MSNBC or CNN will resolve the ignorance of the facts that you purport exist? I listen to news and talk radio all the time, and not just conservative radio. There are stations out there that do not play the spin doctor to push their agenda, some news radio stations actually report the news with no commentary.

Just for clarification, are you trying to say that Wal-Mart is not paying its employees the Federally mandated minimum wage of $7.25 an hour, or the Left demand minimum wage of $10.00 to $15.00 an hour?

By the way, Wal-Mart is not the only company that is keeping people off the full-time jobs, McDonald's and other fast food companies are doing the same. You can blame Obamacare for that little bit of passive resistance by businesses.

Or, in this case, a useless idiot? People who cannot think, reason, and use logic are useless to practically everyone.

Y'all very confused. Walmart offers low prices and something as simple as access. They were turned away in Boston for the very elitist attitude you present.

As for their employees, yes, if the best you've got to offer the employment market is Walmart, well yes, you're going to start at the bottom. But Walmart provides a path to management, "all you gotta do" is work hard and you'll get your shot at a better gig.

The minute you try to alter this fundamental issue (we all need to stand on our own two feet, as uncomfortable as that might seem), you begin to chip away at a reasonable process whereby people are responsible for their own success.

I concur, well said. We ( as in you and I being individuals) do need to stand on our own two feet no doubt about that but there exists a double standard here in that major corporations DO NOT have to stand on their own two feet, they are allowed to receive and rely on Government subsidies and corporate welfare.
What I find to be despicable is that some major corporations gladly take the corporate welfare and government subsidies but then deploy every conceivable tax loophole in order to not pay taxes. [Certainly the shareholders need to see that profit is maximized in order to have faith in the company and keep investing.]
Thus by not paying taxes while receiving welfare some corporations are getting a free ride. This is clearly not standing on two feet.
Some people are standing on their own two feet......are the corporations (that we subsidize) doing the same?
I fully believe in personal responsibly and self reliance but I find corporate welfare to be hypocritical.
