Am I the only one who knows, or cares that today is the day the US Constitution officially became the law of the land? 4 March, 1789, the first Congress was in session.
On 21 June, 1788, New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify the Constitution as written from May-September of 1787. It became the law of the landwith the opening of the Congress on March 4, 1789, (sans the Bill of Rights, which was not ratified until 15 December 1791 ).
Is is just me, or is there not a single damn politician, including the Prevaricator-in-Chief who claims to be a "Constitutional Scholar" who has even mentioned this important day?
How about all of you posters here on OPP, right and left, who claim such knowledge of the Constitution? I haven't heard diddly out of you either.
Guilty. No excuse. Good timing though Loki just cracked open The Founders' Key by Larry P. Arnn. Thanks for keeping us informed.

I also forgot. I'm surprised I didn't remember. I use a calander given to me by the VFW which normally shows these things and it doesn't even show on there. In any event, no excuses here.

Let's see if any of our political prostitutes who claim to be so devoted to the Constitution remember without one of us reminding their weasel asses.

It matters not and is no indication of someone's standing as a supporter of it.

I did not forget. I chose to not comment about it. So?

I am sorry to admit I was ignorant of this very important date. Thank you for bring it to my, and others, attention.
Of course, the resident Libbies will poo-poo as being inconsequential and an outdated 'piece of paper'.

The only "outdated piece of paper" would be their birth certificate!

I didn't have this date on my radar, so I thank you for reminding us all. It's worthy of stopping and taking note.
But please don't bash us forgetters too much - it doesn't mean we don't love the constitution! As for me, I'm more concerned with its on-going interpretation and application to contemporary life.
The typical hater has spoken, 4th of July is just another day, right?

C'mon Robert, you can't be so Contrarian all the time...
Really dude... it's your Constitution too isn't it ?
It's still there and I have never heard of any celebrations as to the date of signing it or whatever the claim is here. It seems like an attempt to say " I'm cooler than you because I knew the date and you didn't ". Hey , party it up , get drunk and do your thing. Heck since February was black history month , why not propose March as constitution month ? I'll sign on.

It surely is his Constitution as long as King Barack lets it be in force. They tell me that he is my President and continue to agree with his attempts to destroy the document.
