Well, for one, it is no longer spice. It is oil.

Muslims around the world will never trust the U.S. I don't believe they ever have. The U.S. was the first ally of Israel, and underwrote it's status as a nation-state.

And beyond that, all Muslims know that leaders, and of course, industrialists, of the U.S. and the West, attempt to use and manipulate them, for their black gold. (Douglas Feith is considered a Zionist. And there was Paul Bremer and the atrocities due to American occupation. And that explains a lot of the anger right there.)

And not just Muslims. Most of the peoples of the world distrust America and Americans.

Evangelicals and neo conservative have a lot of 'splaining to do.
