Speaking of lunatics. In all the gun shows I’ve been to, the only people selling guns privately were selling antique guns.
It just doesn’t happen inside a gun show. I admit I’ve seen some questionable things in the parking lot. Once the police stopped something, maybe gun sale.

An estimated 287,400 prisoners had possessed a firearm during their offense. Among these, more than half (56%) had either stolen it (6%), found it at the scene of the crime (7%), or obtained it off the street or from the underground market (43%). Most of the remainder (25%) had obtained it from a family member or friend, or as a gift. Seven percent had purchased it under their own name from a licensed firearm dealer.
Among prisoners who possessed a firearm during their offense, 0.8% obtained it at a gun show.

Probably not. If he had, he would know where he lives he is lying about gun-show loophole. I have yet to attend a gun show in Virginia that there were not, at minimum, two state troopers. According to the FFL vendors, every gun show there are plain clothes BAFTE agents roaming around.
You could show these dweebs an AR-15 with a really nice wooden stock and other such things and they would be clueless you were showing them that scary looking assault rifle.
