The abomination that causes desolation happens at the "midst of the week", the midpoint of Daniel's 70th week. BTW, verses 19-20 suggest a pre-wrath view.

I did geriatric nursing and hospice my last 10 years before I retired,and most of those I cared for seriously looked for God at the end ,close to the end.
