It seems Alt meat is not doing so good under Joe Biden's inflationary economy. Even hardcore Global Warming imbeciles are not willing to pay for food that costs more, tastes worse, and is not better for you than real meat.

" Once seen as the answer to human health and climate change, alt-meat startups raised nearly $15 billion in venture capital funding over the last dozen years. But they've now flamed out, and funding for food-technology startups has fallen to the lowest level in nearly a decade. "

If I remember correctly, this isn't the first time "fake" meat has been touted as the solution...it tasted like garbage then...amazing that in 20-30 years they haven't been able to improve the taste much.

Not the packaged crap on grocery shelves. I've had vegetable burgers in restaurants and found them eatable. I can pretty much stomach anything. My main complaints against them was their texture. When enjoying a good burger, it is not only taste that you experience, but it's physical state. Vegetable burgers constantly want to fall apart in the bun as you eat them.

Maybe I should try Soylent Green. I hear it has real meat by products in it.

The thing is fake meat is made out of plant protein materials such as soy beans and other legumes. I like that stuff anyway. However, the food alchemists take these perfectly good plant proteins and torture them with heat and acids, and then run them through extruders to give them the texture of meat. If I want to cut real meat out of my diet, which I do not, I will simply eat my legumes whilst they still look and taste like plants.

This whole paradigm by our Global Warming fracking rulers to deceive and control us constantly pisses me off. When I see a piece of meat, I want it to be a piece of meat, and I sure as frack do not need some Climate loony tune telling me I can't eat it. Like when I see a beautiful woman, I do not want to wonder if she is really a guy.

Our betters love to use deception to run our lives.

I just bought a half of environmental friendly beef. It was grass fed, so it was a vegetarian.

Global Warmers worry about cattle farts damaging the environment. I am not kidding. I don't know whether grass fed or grain fed beef emits worse methane. What gets me is the cattle in America simply replaced 60 million Buffalo. So weren't the Buffalo destroying the environment ?

I looked up grass fed verses grain fed and I am confused. Grass fed fart more, but when you take in the emissions required to raise the grain it is fuzzy. This article further confused me. Good thing I don't care.

When they're hanging in the butcher shop, they don't fart. See, we're saving the environment. I bought grain fed beef several years ago and it was so tough we couldn't eat it. Since then I've been buying grass fed and it's very good and tender.

It was referred to as "plastic meat" first time around. I live rurally we usually raise a beef for personally use...it does NOT taste like plastic.
